Castlevania: Nocturne s2 Spoilers
Maybe itās just me (and the Olrox defender in me), but I donāt think the Olrox\Mizrak situation is as bad as some of you are making it out to be. Considering what weāve seen, at least.
Was the whole situation ideal? No. Could it have been avoided? I guess. But, guys, what else was Olrox going to do? Let Mizrak die when he had a way to save him, especially after Mizrak had just told him he was afraid to die?
I donāt know, but that whole conversation really felt like an implicit request. Because Mizrak knows Olrox, knows what happened in his past, and was aware of what the risks of his situation were.
Of course, one could argue that Mizrak wasnāt entirely himself at the time, but would you risk that? Would you honestly be able to sit by the person you loved, watch him die, afraid, and do nothing?
I donāt think I would, tbh.
Regardless, it is true that the turning wonāt be easy for Mizrak. He feels a very profound religious guilt, which wonāt be easy to overcome. He will likely also blame Olrox at some point, and the issue will need to be resolved.
However, itās nothing that canāt be dealt with and be developedāeven if that development ends up being a tragic one. That doesnāt make Olroxāor even Mizrakāthe villain of this story.
I seriously donāt even understand how the turning of Olroxās past lover can be taken as anything more than a general parallel when we donāt know the whole story.
And, honestly, I do feel like Mizrak and Emmanuelās last conversationābefore Emmanuel diedāforeshadowed Mizrakās path a bit. Because, while being completely different, Mizrak eventually developed Emmanuelās same fears about dying.
And that is part of what lead him to a new path.
