welcome to my blog! i'm here to shout about all of my hyperfixations (which, right now, is mainly Wicked) and to share my fanfics (again, mainly Wicked) I've been a Wicked fan for most of my life, after I first saw it on broadway. I've always been a lurker in the fandom, but I'm excited to be a more active member🖤 When it comes to ships, I'm a thropple truther at my core, but I tend to write fiyeraba a little more Things you can expect from me/my fics: lots of Fiyero (each time i obsess over Wicked i pick a new character to focus on, and now it's his turn), occasional banter and stupid puns, angst, plenty of yearning and pining

Better Off Pretending - Wicked (shiz-era), fiyeraba, multichapter

It starts with a lie. A well-intentioned, mildly chaotic, emotionally irresponsible lie. Fiyero tells his parents he’s dating someone. Elphaba agrees to play the part. What follows is a series moments that feel all too real, a few near confessions, and one very inconvenient truth: pretending might be safer, but it’s not nearly as satisfying as the real thing.

Fiyero was desperate to find Elphaba. Having had risen through the ranks of the Gale Force, Fiyero has one goal: find Elphaba and keep her safe. But after years of searching, he feels no closer than when she first went on the run. That is, until a recent sighting leads him through the forest to a secret hideout and a forgotten letter. "I can’t imagine a world where I actually send any of these, but yours least of all. I don’t even know why I’m writing it. With the others, I had a reason. An excuse. But with you… I suppose it’s because part of me needs to put these thoughts down, somewhere, anywhere, before they devour me whole."

Both Musical and Movie Fiyeraba versions of have their places in my heart because on one side; you have Movie!Fiyeraba meet cute (kinda), longing glances, and mild annoyance turned fondness. And then you have have Musical!Fiyeraba being this close to strangling each other only to realize that they’ve found the person who sees them truly and loves them.
