the crime for being a man who exists to manufacture conflict between two women is death btw
His little slip up has tickled me đ
thereâs this attitude amongst the tumblrina-minded thatâs basically like âwell I donât like this mainstream thing so we can assume itâs bad and everyone else also thinks itâs badâ which I always find myself in the middle of because Iâm often the one that likes the mainstream thing thatâs bad. but then I get pushed into the fandom of the mainstream thing because no one else will take me seriously and thereâs this bizarre attitude there where if you criticize the mainstream thing at all youâre a horrible person and youâre not allowed to engage with it critically. What I think happens is that people associate their media tastes with their identity in a way thatâs almost nationalistic and it happens in both âhigh cultureâ and âlow culture.â But what that also tells me is that if progressive people conceptualize themselves as part of an in-group they will enforce the boundaries of that in-groupâs traditions and cultural touchstones in a way that shuts down openness and critical thought. leftism is not necessarily a protection against rigidity
we saw this a lot with ai like people were calling it dangerous and bad and evil but then didnât have enough familiarity with it to be able to articulate why because they wouldnât engage with it or learn about it. I also think this is how a lot of normally erudite tumblrinas on here talk about Ariana grande. a lot of people were making extremely ethically questionable clickbait videos about her and I think many people on here saw those, never questioned it, and then took that âbad behaviourâ as an excuse to talk about her and about eating disorders generally in a very ethically questionable way. Sheâs not in your particular in-groupâs list of respected public figures and sheâs âbadâ (apparently irredeemably) so you can talk about her however you want and still have the Mandate of Heaven. or even when people will use âslopâ uncritically when it apparently comes from 4chan. Nothing will stand in the way of peopleâs desire to call stuff unequivocally bad
i will now ignore the love triangle, and instead will continue to obsess over my yuri. that man never existed, your honour.
galinda upland i love you so much
here's two articles about how JK Rowling just posted on X an upskirt photo of Freda Wallace, a transgender woman, after deadnaming her and misgendering her repeatedly online.
The wealthy author escalated a social media spat that resulted in posting a photo from a 2023 event at the Institute of Economic Affairs in
Rowling posted the picture taken from below because the trans woman, she said, was "refusing to debate me."
Thank you for posting without the fucking destiel meme
So in summation; Rowling demanded access to a womanâs time and when she couldnât get it she retaliated by posting an upskirt image of her and called her fat, and some of her fans even went âI think I can see her genitalsâ.
She literally went âdebate me! Debate me!â Over and over like the grifter she is and when she couldnât get what she wanted and when ânoâ wasnât enough she resorted to retaliatory sex-pestery, posting an image of somebodyâs body with intention to shame and embarrass and spawn more waspish tittering from her internet followers.
Rowling is trash and this is disgraceful behavior, in case anyone has forgotten.
She had also claimed Freda "deserved" this sexual harassment because of what she was wearing... You know... The same excuse used over and over to try and justify rape.
No person (trans or otherwise) is obliged to debate anyone for any reason. When they refuse to do so you should take it as a 'no.'
One would THINK that a 'figurehead of women's rights' would understand that 'no means no'... But according to JKR it apparently mean 'sexually harass and verbally abuse them on twatter.'
no matter how many times I watch the film, I will still tear up at for good and having to watch dorothy throw that damn water at elphie. just the music and her screams and glinda having to watch that thinking itâs real just gut me every time
No one bats an eye when Jeff Goldblum is an avid Wizard defender, but Marissa Bode is a âsilly gooseâ when she suggests that Nessa has a lot of nuance and isnât just a two dimensional villain, Ariana Grande is getting Glindaâs character wrong when she talks about her more positive traits. The ground Jonathan Bailey walks on is praised but nothing Cynthia Erivo does is ever right.
Can we please stop blaming Audrey for letting down Leah?
She was a kid who was pushed into a role at age 5, her boyfriend is drifting from her anyway and then he's magicked away and Leah's the one people sympathise with?
This is just as bad as people sympathising with Mal drugging Ben. Like no you don't blame the victims.
Stop hating on Audrey because she couldn't fulfil Leah's power hungry wishes.
Lowkey, If I was Audrey and I came back to life to see my opp doodled all over my diary after giving me a wackass apology, I'm getting repossessed all over again. Let's go for round 2
Rachel Zegler at tonightâs Ariana Grande eternal sunshine show.
âthere is no one lovelier, kinder, more talented, more thoughtful... the list goes on and on and on. this woman has shown up for me in times where i didn't think anyone would even want to. and to see her in a stadium filled with people who love her is beyond validating for all of us who know her heart. it's the best to see you shine. ily my sister.â
âAriana Grandeâs relationship history needs to be studiedâ
Daring today, are we?
i can't stop thinking about this official musical shirt when there's a line at the very end of the musical where elphaba explicitly says that glinda is the only friend she's ever had. glinda beaten down 500th time
Elphaba being nearly convinced to join the Wizard just because Glinda looked at her with those big brown eyes is in itself extremely iconic in a pathetic sort of way, but I think it is also elevated by the fact that this was Glinda begging Elphie to stay with her ON her wedding day like Elphaba was fully ready to become a mistress. Emerald City could have witnessed that beautiful trainwreck of a situation if only their leader was 5% less fascist
Glinda trying to provoke an ounce of empathy and self reflection from the munchkins by describing Elphabaâs tragic childhood of neglect and bullying: so you see, it couldnât have been easy!
Munchkins: yeah cool story bro, letâs bring out the giant pyre version of her we somehow had time to make amidst an ongoing civil war and burn it to the ground
