Just your annual heads up, Northern Ontario is actively on fire with little resources from the provincial government to combat them. Over 144 fires on record, you've seen the fire from Armstrong and another from Collins, but several First Nations along the corridor have lost their homes and have been displaced. Please keep them in mind this season as the fires have devastated their homes and displaced them, some were evacuated to Niagara where they face indiscriminate racism.

Loitering is one of those victimless crimes that seem to be put in place exclusively to control people that the public doesn't like. Anti-vagrancy laws date back to Reconstruction and are one of many, many public policy things that draw directly from legislation designed to target Black people.

You don't even have to be lingering in one place. Being outside is enough to arouse suspicion here. I have personally been stopped by police while walking and also while riding a bicycle in my own neighborhood. I think that's like, somewhat common for a lot of people here. Worse now with the constant threat of ICE.
