Facing the potential of a second abortion and feeling so many strange conflicting things.
I don’t really want to go through it again. Physically and emotionally.
But I’m still not ready for a child. Neither is my boyfriend right now.
Still waiting for my period to start this week. Fingers and crossed this is not my path again.
Life update. The guy I’m currently seeing went to the same high school and has a similar friend group of the guy that got me pregnant. 😞
Haven’t seen or talked to him since I told him I was pregnant. If we run into each other one day I don’t know how I’ll handle it.
Poland just made it legal to torture women.
abortion law in Poland was already the strictest in Europe, abortion was allowed in only 3 cases:
if the pregnancy was a result of rape or incest
if the mother's health was at risk
in case of foetal defects.
another problem is that there is something called "conscience clause" among Polish doctors which means that they can deny a patient certain treatment if it's against their conscience or beliefs (yes, it mostly applies to conservative, catholic doctors). some doctors went as far as not telling women about foetal defects until it was too late to terminate pregnancy. what's more, abortion in case of rape happens very rarely, since it's difficult to prove rape in the eyes of Polish law.
in 2019, only 1100 legal abortions took place in Poland, a country populated by 38 milion people. 98% of these abortions happened because of foetal defects.
on October 22nd 2020, Poland's top court ruled abortion due to foetal defects inconstitional, basically making abortion illegal.
Polish women will be forced to give birth to children with basically no chance to live. they will be tortured physically and mentally. rich women will be able to visit neighbouring countries to have abortion there but there are plenty of women who will have unsafe, illegal abortions, endangering their lives.
there are protests happening all over the country. not for the first time though, we've been protesting abortion ban for few years now. there's a sense of solidarity among us but the truth is, we're afraid.
this is how catholic extremism looks like. Poland is becoming a real-life Gilead and it's fucking terrifying.
Seeing things like this makes me so angry!
Thought this might help
NWOFHSKS NO WONDER WHEN I SEND HEARYS THINGS GET EATEN TUMBKR IM JIST TRYING TO SHOW MY LOVE SMH
I THOUGHT THIS CAN’T BE TRUE SO I DID IT AND WHAT THE HELL IS THIS WEBSITE, I’ve never got this ‘...’ ask!
some of yall were asking about asks that i never answered and this may have been what happened!
This is what a real, qualified OBGYN will tell you about what women feel when they get an abortion
Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.
That last statement about regret is so important, because so many people don’t understand what it is or what causes it. Anti-choicers exploit this by manipulating pregnant people and creating doubt, which only increases the likelihood of regret, no matter what decision the pregnant person makes. You know what is best for you, even if it takes some time to figure it out.

Willie Parker is a HERO among common people!
Dr. Parker is one of the few things I like about Alabama and we are so fortunate to have him here.
You’re allowed to cry and be sad.
You’re also allowed to still not regret your decision.
Gotta remind myself of this one sometimes.
I do not regret my choice.
But I have suffered because of it.
Just thought you’d like to know it comes to an end. The obsessive thoughts and wondering. The fear of speaking the words a loud and sharing your story.
I told someone I was dating that I have been pregnant before and did not want to go through it again. I wasn’t even scared. And I have never felt judged.
I finally feel relief and free.

Bonus:
thank you I am going to use this in every single abortion argument forever
Based on your own abortion experience, what do you think of people who say abortion is “just a period” ? I know for some women it is but it’s just so insensitive to me :/
Its not just a period. It’s also the psychological affect of knowing you could have a baby but you’re choosing no to for whatever reason.
Technically having a medical abortion does start your period and that is what it is. But it’s really fucking painful. Think your worst period pain x 10. They have to give you limited amount of strong painkillers you can’t just buy. And I bled for 3 months straight.
I don't want to trivialise anyone's experience, let me say that right off the bat.
But, the reason many of us say that a medical abortion in the first trimester is "like a period" is to counter the rampant misinformation from anti choicers who exaggerate abortion stories to make it sound as gruesome and violent as possible.
If likening a medical abortion to a period was trivializing to anyone, I am genuinely sorry. I've never been pregnant or gotten an abortion, so I obviously don't know what the emotional aspect is like.
I'm glad I saw this in the pro choice tag though because its a reminder to be more aware of what I'm saying.
I completely understand what you’re saying. If someone came to me concerned or worried I’d probably re-assure them that it’s similar to having your period. A really heavy period.

good evening! abortion is currently illegal in texas. the state has ordered that abortion is a “non-essential” medical procedure and must be completely halted during the coronavirus pandemic. this is the first time since the roe v. wade decision in 1973 that abortion has been completely illegal in any state. it’s going to be a serious legal fight to open clinics back up, because the fifth circuit court of appeals is full of far-right judges and is siding with the state.
i know there are lots of things going on and lots of things to worry about. i want to call your attention to this matter, because this is a scary precedent: the fifth circuit is saying that there can be exceptions to our civil liberties in a time of crisis.
if you want to / can help out financially i would encourage you to donate to an abortion fund in texas that can help people travel out of state for care.
i encourage you also to spread the word if you can!
Well that’s fucked up. Do people honestly think it’s not essential?
What about the people out there who have lost their income during this pandemic? You now want them to support having and raising a child?
Abortion care needed
I humbly come to you asking for help. I am pregnant and I need an abortion. I have been trying to mentally figure everything out for the past 3 months and I am not financially able to get an abortion. I am currently a college student at Indiana University. Please before you judge me or my decision, the guy I was sleeping with, slipped off the condom without my consent. The cost is $1150 and goes higher the further along the pregnancy gets. I need your help. I have no health insurance or any other support. Thank you. I’ll be eternally grateful if I get the help❤️ VENMO: cayking

Honestly I’m a little tired of the abortion discussion centering around child raising and such. Like, if I got pregnant today, and someone offered to adopt the child and pay for my medical bills and everything, I still would have an abortion? You know why? Because I don’t want to be pregnant. I don’t want to put my body through that for nine months. And I don’t want to risk my life in childbirth. Fact is no one will be able to do that for me, so untimately it’s my choice and that’s all there is to it.
I might lose some followers but this is so important to me. I’m a mother, I’ve been through pregnancy and labor, and friends let me tell you- that shit is HELL. No one should be forced to go through that. Ever. Abortion is a right. Periodt.
I feel like some people think having an abortion is taking a pill and forgetting or moving on with life.
For me having an abortion was feeling my body change, making the choice to not have a baby and going to a clinic. At the clinic it’s not just taking a pill to terminate, it’s having an ultrasound and being told how many weeks you are. Wondering if it’s appropriate to ask to see the ultrasound (which I chickened out of). It’s talking with the doctor and a psychologist about why you can’t have this baby.
It’s taking a pill to stop the hormones in front of the doctor and being given more to take at home 24 hours later with some heavy painkillers.
Pacing around your room 24 hours later realising this is the now or never moment.
It’s being home by yourself and taking those pills to start the termination and waiting for the pain. Taking pain killers, laying in bed all night and bleeding heavily. It’s your worst ever period pain you can think of and more.
And after that, it was going to work every day, engaging in regular activities and bleeding non stop.
I bled for about 3 months straight with one week break when it randomly stopped. 3 months of a constant period. No one is signing up for that.
No one just has an abortion. And I’d say not many people just carry on their lives.
Honestly i bleed for 3 months normally so I feel your pain.
That’s crazy! My normal cycle is 5 days of bleeding but very light the last 2 days. So 3 months was something I did not expect.
