Arthur Pendragon stood at the edge of the cliff, making sure everything was ready before facing his new students. As everyone knew, the long awaited orientation had finally arrived and the students found themselves standing beside a cliff, standing upon metal plates. In the distance was another cliff, their intended target. He clapped his hands to get the others' attention before speaking.
"As you all can see, we are going to be beginning your orientation today. You will be sent on a recon mission. You will travel through this forest and reach the mine. You will then enter the mine and retrieve the artifact inside the mine. This will be your first test in this school year. So please. Do your best." He paused for a moment before adding. "This will also be where you all meet your team mates. In fact...." He grinned. "The first person you lock eyes with will be your partner for the rest of your time here. So be mindful!" He heard the whispers among the student and looked at the two teachers standing behind him.
One of them was a tall man clad mostly in grey; he had steel-blue hair and an expression of deep, deep judgment. His arms were folded over his chest, and he looked down upon the students from Arthur’s right side. He moved from person to person, staring each one of them dead in the eyes for a few moments.
He glanced over to Arthur when addressed, then looked back to the students.
“You are free to do as you wish here,” he told them, with an almost flawless deadpan. “But just because you cannot see us, do not be fooled into thinking we cannot see you. Use this as an opportunity to prove your worth — both individually and in groups. Teamwork is just as critical, if not more so, than raw skill. Do not use this to selfishly hog any sort of ‘spotlight’, because you’ll only be hurting yourself and your fellows in the end.”
The third, and last of the men on stage stood in utter silence. Akin to the one in grey, the second man held little to no flaws in his posture. He stood tall, dressed from head to toe in dark purple hues with his own lilac hair being cut short. He held his hands behind his back, pale lavender eyes looking over the crowd as the headmaster and head of discipline spoke. Once they finished he finally spoke up.His voice was not harsh and did not have a bite to it as his blue haired colleague , but when he spoke it still held weight to is, a sternness that dare not be tested.
"Take our words to heart, students. You are here to learn, to grow, to become hunters and huntresses. You must carve your futures together if you truly wish to become our world's future. Find what you wish to fight for."
Arthur looked back at the students. "These teachers and I shall be keeping an eye on your progress, but we will not intervene. You are the ones in charge of your own fate today. Now, prepare your landing strategy. Any questions? No? Great! Let's do this!"
He clapped his hands and took a few steps to the side, and, one by one, students were tossed into the air towards the forest. If the students paid close attention they could hear Pendragon's laughter from their surprised expressions.
