The Vatican is reported to be the world’s largest non-governmental land holding entity. 

The Vatican claims lands that in places where belonging and faith once flourished in different shape and colour.

The Vatican contributed to and sustains the dispossession and oppression of indigenous people’s and non-human beings across the globe.

The Vatican needs to come up off all that land. The Vatican needs to make amends, it needs to make reparations. 

Either the Vatican takes a seat, or we will.

A recording of a performance that was pure fun and like many things lay forgotten in my phone’s voice memo app. I found it a few weeks ago and suddenly I was listening to the sounds of a crowded gallery at an MFA show wondering if and when I would see any of those people again. It is bizarre to imagine how this was the last time for so many things.

A TRAGIC SENSATION

Miguel has come to me tonight. 

We do this often, late night visits; 

we both crave the moon. 

He soils me with seeds 

and I let soju take the wheel

and paint my mouth with baklava 

while he makes windows out of DNA 

shaping halls for my neural pathways.

“You need an oil lamp,” 

he shouts to me, agitated 

and heart beating loudly,

with his head in the refrigerator.

“I need silence,” I let him hear

in plum flavored notes.

“So much silence.”

It is night in my studio,

and the lightning cracks

7 miles away.

sometimes, I feel like I understand nature better when I don’t ask her questions, just let her exist and feel what she wants to tell me. Sometimes she doesn’t want to tell you anything, though.

Eerie mixdown of my canister instruments

Trash? 

Trash is a weird word. Recycle is even weirder. Did you know most of the waste what goes into recycling bins in the US doesn’t actually get recycled. Most of it ends up in a landfill. A lot of it gets bought by other countries and then sometimes recycled, or sometimes ends up in a foreign landfill. 

This all sucks, for a lot of reasons I’ll get into later, but for now, I decided to turn marijuana containers into instruments instead of throwing them out. Audio in next post...
