This is not metaphorical. I mean actual, literal pieces of paper/plastic/metal/whatever explicitly erected to inform the public.

“How did you know this was the right trail?” I read the sign.

“Wow, how did you know what that flower is?” There’s a SIGN.

“How did you know we needed to use the side door?” THERE IS A SIGN POSTED ON THE FRONT DOOR.

Just…why are we having such different experiences of the world? People can read. I KNOW they can read. There’s nothing wrong with their vision.

OK I have to say this somewhere. Hudson said, and I quote "Rpfing gotta stop yall" yet I'm still seeing it on X.

So called fans constantly posting photos, taken without their knowledge ( I've a whole other rant for that ) and saying how they are matching boyfriends. STOP IT. It went too far when they weren't remotely wearing similar outfits yet these people continue to say it.

One in jeans, the other in shorts. One in glasses the other without. I guess they were both wearing hats and had a bag. Big deal. JUST STOP IT

If I was to follow their reasoning I would be matching with everybody I see, just cos we are both wearing clothes.

Anyway late night rant over and no I will not be posting any of those pics of the boys out and about. Just let them to their thing and we can all enjoy season 2 next year.

I think by now Hudson and Connor have repeated enough times that they do not want pictures to be taken that we are all aware, yet the stalking continues.

I don't think any of it is ok. The public street pictures help identify their neighbourhood - where they are staying, which gym they go to and lead to increasingly intrusive, dangerous and disturbing stalking like Connor being touched without consent and followed to his private residence or Hudson being photographed inside the private gym clearly without his knowledge or consent.

If you call yourself a fan of either or both of them, please don't spread these non-consensual photos and videos and call out the stalkers instead of encouraging their behaviour.

They will be working in Toronto for months, and the situation is already spiralling badly with stalkers reportedly flying in to harass them. They will be forced into lockdown, it will impact their mental health being hunted for pics, and it will burden the production to have to increase security.

There are no upsides. We should not engage with this kind of content, and wait until they share what they are comfortable sharing.

Can we please have a conversation about boundaries for once?

Connor has spent the last year keeping a pretty low profile. He doesn't seem interested in living his life online, he isn't active on social media, he does his job, promotes his projects when he has to, and then disappears again. That's clearly a choice he's made, and it's one that should be respected.

The second he's back in Canada filming with Hudson, it's like all of that goes out the window.

People are posting sightings in real time, tracking where he's been seen, waiting around filming locations, waiting at airports, waiting outside hotels, and now there are people openly admitting they touched him to get his attention while he was just trying to walk somewhere. Read that back to yourselves.

He's a stranger.

If someone politely declines a photo, that's the end of the interaction. You don't keep pushing. You don't touch them. And if they think you're following them back to where they're staying, maybe ask yourself why that feels like a realistic concern for them in the first place.

What's even weirder is seeing people relocate or make plans around filming just so they can "accidentally" run into them. That's not dedication. That's not being a supportive fan. That's crossing a line.

The irony is that so many of the same people claim to care about Connor while completely ignoring the fact that he has consistently shown he values his privacy. If you actually respect someone, you respect the boundaries they've set, not the ones you've decided you're entitled to ignore.

You are not owed a photo. You are not owed a conversation. You are definitely not entitled to touch another person because they're an actor.

Some of the behaviour I've seen lately is genuinely unsettling, and it's exactly the kind of thing that makes actors become more guarded over time. Supporting someone's work should never involve making them feel like they're under surveillance every time they leave the house.

always disappointing to me that jj wasn’t written as thee shane hollander understander on the metros…… jj recapping the game with running commentary to make shane smile while shane feels no pressure to perform…. shane feeds jj the puck so he can break the goal scoring record for a metros defenceman and they hug so hard at the blue line they fall over ……. jj and shane protecting each other on the ice and in the room…….. like the two (2) canon confirmed non white players in the books….. and they have literally zero interactions where the complexity of their intersecting experiences is like. even nodded at

again i am not looking to white canadian rachel reid for nuanced deconstructions of race in sports but the way black and asian athletes are treated in hockey is not an esoteric topic that requires rigorous study. jason robertson did not compete at the olympics this year despite being a score leader for american players because he ‘didn’t have the grit.’ pk subban spent his entire career being criticised for his tone of voice, for being loud, for being opinionated, for being attention seeking. it is very easy to draw parallels from the treatment of real non white players to how — reasonably — shane and jj would have been treated because of their race, regardless of their talents for hockey. it makes both shane and jj’s struggles seem very flat and underwhelming by comparison to characters like ilya and troy barrett. racism is missing from the conversation, although these characters transparently do not live in a post-racial world

it also makes it more insidious that jj, while he makes one ignorant comment, is relegated to villain status in fandom, sometimes ranking even lower than the actual homophobic metros players. he gets more heat than actual former bigot troy barrett and actual rapist dallas kent. ive seen him featured in fanworks as a serial abuser, someone who assaults shane, every variation of ist and phobic. any positive qualities are entirely flattened, often for the benefit of ilya to ‘protect’ shane from material harm caused by jj

rachel, again, has denied a character of colour the dignity of lived experience, something that she empathetically grants to her white characters. shane and jj’s friendship — especially considering that jj was more openly accepting of shane’s sexuality than hayden! — should have been given the opportunity to develop in the story. instead, jj is hijacked as another means to punish shane for his selfishness, his ignorance, and his paranoia. jj and shane don’t even have the luxury of resolving their fight on page like fuck me
