Okay you bring an Atlas to a fight with more than 5 mechs and see what that does :3 At least the King Crab was designed as half command and half brawler. On a battlefield im not the one charging into the 'gonna die unless im a named character' zone.

They're both command mechs, but to the Atla's very limited credit it actually has the ability to hit stuff that runs behind it--something none of the AC/20 KGC's can attest to because they insist on fully articulated actuator setups!

Love this mech, wish there were more variants of it! I find it so silly that the first few variants are so minimally different.

Ive also been trying to paint minis quicker, and in batches. My quality has dropped but im happy to be moving faster through my unending backlog.

Battletech Hottake

Since people seemed to enjoy my MW5 design opinion post I have another fresh one

My Hot Battletech Take is the Panther is a better Urbanmech. Comparing stock to stock you get 2x Speed, enough Jump jets to actually clear an average building, AC10 proof armour on each hit location, same damage main gun that doesn't need ammo, arms for throwing hands, and an SRM4 for Anti Vehicle or Infantry work. Buy a Lance of them, give the Commander smoke rounds, another one inferno rounds, you're all set. All this for less than twice the C-bills and or BV. Sure the PPC has a minimum range but you're more mobile and you can punch people!

Lowkey hate the Mechwarrior 5 designs

They all look like they are wearing dysphoria hoodies. Highlander gets it especially bad with the no neck thing which is unfortunate cause it is my favourite mech to play.

The life of a mechwarrior apparently consists of twenty minutes of fighting, followed by twenty days of waiting for repairs to be done.

I have made the wild assumption that in the future of giant robot warfare they also have smartphones. I mean, they better, considering people seem to spend all their time either waiting on a ship for things to get repaired or in the hospital waiting for their body to get repaired. It is a bleak future, which would undoubtedly be even bleaker without being able to look at cat videos while sitting on a crate.

EDIT: Oh hey, tumblr also resizes your picture, screwing up the tone density. Weee.

EDIT²: Wait no, it does not resize. It just displays the image at whatever resolution fits instead of going fullsize when clicked on, so you have to open the image in a new tab to see the full res image. That is silly pants.

Tried doing a sorta double-lighting effect, similar to my coyotl. This time with edge highlights instead of the base coat.

The arm's actually magnetized due to it getting run over by a chair. Surprised the magnets fit in there tbh

Anyway, here's the pallette I was trying to match.

I think I kiiiinda got it. Had to make do with some paint mixing.

Finished a full lance of my Lyran Guard for Battletech. Im already posted converted Black Knight here, but not the others

Now I just need to come up with pilot names and some lore.

Im already decided that Black Knight pilot is former ComGuard member, who decided to leave after Tukayyid and Operation SCORPION, due to losing faith in ComStar as a organisation. Their Black Knight bears sigil of the minor noble house of Lyran Commonwealth, which was fully destroyed during Clan Invasion, after that, they remained the last heir of this house.

Other members of the lance is blank pages right now, but maybe I will come up with something before the game

Custom kitbashed Catapult CPLT-C5 and a couple of Hawks for an upcoming Mechwarrior: Destiny campaign. Can't wait to get both of these forces completely painted up and on the table!
