You aren't kidding when you say you're a nerd. A cat name Mass Spec? I think you won King of the Nerd Squad. 🏆🥇
"King of the Nerd Squad has a nice ring to it, that's going in my insta bio." He chuckled as he leaned back, "Wait I better be getting an actual trophy for this not just an emoji one." The amusement is laced into his tone expertly. "I never thought people would be so obsessed with Massy."
@agentbennet started following
"Please come in and close the door behind yourself. I get in trouble if Sunny gets out again."
“Gotta admit, last time they were shouting there’s a snake on the floor I really didn’t believe them.” He grinned as he lightly teased while moving into the room and closing the door behind him. “So problem and you’re the more hands on guy, ever fix a Mass Spectrometer? I know you're more the make it type guy but I need a fix it felix type right now."

Criminal Sentences, Vol. 17
(Sentences from various sources for criminals and/or dangerous muses. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"The best lie - the one that's easiest to remember with consistency - is the one that's based on the truth."
"Wow. I really got to you, didn't I?"
"You think you'll be remembered? You're a pathetic psychopath, begging for attention!"
"You once asked me to work for you, now I'm asking you to work for me."
"Are you willing to make a bargain?"
"As bad as you think things are now, they're going to get much worse."
"I really wanted to shoot him."
"You come from a world of rules and laws. This place is indifferent to all of that. I do not think you would be willing to do what it takes to survive here."
"You don't have to worry; I'm not going to kill you. You're the only friend I've got left."
"Did he arrest you or something?"
"Maybe you should do what you do best - run and hide."
"If I kill you right now, no one will remember you! No one will miss you!"
"You're quite the con man!"
"The reason I chose you is because you've got good instincts."
"People are going to say things about me, and I want you to know that I'm not like that."
"You best be looking over your shoulder because if we cross paths again, I'm going to bury your whole family."
"I've never felt sorry for anything I've done, other than hurt my family. That's the only thing I'm sorry for."
"My lawyer says I can't talk about stuff like that."
"I could have killed you if I wanted to."
"It's not realistic to think that I wouldn't do what I came here to do."
"If I can find you, then they can find you."
"I don't trust any of these other guys, so let's watch each other's backs."
"I'm impressed! You have quite the knack for deception!"
"You held up your end of the bargain, and now I'd like to hold up mine."
"Blackmail? Go on, then. With everything you've done, you'll be going down with me."
"Don't worry, if I wanted to harm you, I would have long ago."
"Now, that right there is the closest thing we've had to an honest exchange so far."
"I may not be allowed to kill you, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to hurt you."
"I guess it shouldn't surprise me that you know to hotwire a car, huh?"
"You're still alive because you have no weapon and they didn't ask me to kill you, but if you pursue me. it is another matter."
"Don't confuse a winning move with a winning game."
"You don't even feel, do you?"
"If you worked for me, things would be easier."
"I can get everything I want from you even if you only have nine fingers, or perhaps only one eye."

"You're behaving like a stubborn idiot!"

"Are you going to ignore me all day again?"
"You know, you're very, very cute. You're also very manipulative."
"That was one of the stupidest things you have ever done!"

"It is not my fault I lost my job!"
"So, when you say 'call me if you need anything', you mean 'don’t call me'?"

Send 😶 + a really uncomfortable question and my muse has to answer it
His attendance would mark only his second time attending a gala, the first? Last years Steele Ball, it clearly wasn’t his specific arena of events but he wanted to help in even the smallest of ways. It was glaringly obvious of course that the other attendees and himself were in drastically different tax brackets but Jake never cared about such trivial things. He’d once again floated the black tie by taking his suit jacket off the moment he was insider and turned to drape it over the back of his chair, he’d use the fact he can move around easier without it and well the converse on his feet weren’t exactly black tie either but who’s gonna tell the guy in a wheelchair he had the wrong shoes on? He’d opted to test the bounds.
“Somehow even grander then last year.”
The band had been allowed a short break and Ted had decided he was going to make the best of it. He had promised Emma he would tell her how all the food was and rank them in level of deliciousness, so he was currently in the process of trying to pick up every single piece of food within reach. That combined with his obviously rented tux was a clear sign that he was not used to parties like this.
He had been in the process of taking a bite of some toast thing when he heard someone say something about this being better than last year. He looked over at the man, eyes wide with disbelief.
"This...isn't the normal level of grand?"
Jake hadn’t had the pleasure to try any of the food just yet but he supposed he should after all that’s what you’re meant to do right? Mingle, eat, drink, donate, well at least that’s what he’d done last year. “I dunno man, this is only my second one of these things and looks fancier than last year.” He shrugged. ‘Jury’s out though, I think these guys have suits on that cost more than anything I own.”
Ted chewed on his little snack, suddenly aware of the fact that it probably cost more than his lunches for a week. There was a small comfort though knowing that he wasn't the only newbie to these things.
"How much do you thing this whole thing ended up costing?" he asked, the curiosity now getting the better of him.
The problem with being lower than most of the trays was you tended to be overlooked by catering staff so Jake did what anyone would do moved himself into their path so they had to stop before plucking something that he was not sure in the slightest as to what it was off the tray as he leaned up a bit and popped it into his mouth… not bad, weird but not bad.
Jake looked around at the question, “Gotta be in the high thousands right? I mean venue aside I feel like they only let me in cuz the chair and the pity for it.” He laughed.
Ted had made the unfortunate decision to put some cheese thing in his mouth right before hearing the assumed number. He choked a bit on that, having to pound himself in the chest and take a rather large drink of his cocktail to down what remained of the bite. "Jeez Louise," he said, not entirely believing that someone could spend that much money on ONE party. Then again, he wasn't rich, so what did he know.
"If it's any consolation," he said, pausing long enough to snag two little cups of what he hoped was pudding off a passing tray and holding one out to the man in an offer of solidarity. "I'm only here because I'm in the band."
Jake watched him and could tell the guy was definitely more his type of person than likely about 90% of the people in attendance at the ball, they could relate. Jake leaned over to grab one of the water bottles from the nearest table needing to rinse whatever the heck he’d just ate out of his mouth, clearly fancy didn’t mean good, he’d grab a cocktail soon enough. “Hey Im just ball parking it but rich people man.” He snorted.
He took the offered food, ‘thanks” he looked at it questionably for a moment. “Crashed it myself, couldn’t afford the table price but hey I brought what I’m sure is a paltry donation but it’s something right?”

Is your cat really named Mass Spec?
"Sensing a little judgement in that tone." He teased every bit of amusement portrayed in his own tone as he looks up at them. "most the time she prefers Massy but if she's being a little demon which let's face it most cats are, then she gets full named."

❞ ❝ i can’t fucking do this without you. ❞ ❝ it was a joke, okay? in my mind, you loved it. ❞ ❝ well then, give me your hand. ❞ ❝ they haven’t lost faith in you. they’re just scared. ❞ ❝ goddamn it, i wanna punch you so bad. ❞ ❝ looks different in the daylight, huh?
