I don't see the Khalai really caring about closed marriage, that's more of a Nerazim thing, while the Khalai have more of a "it takes a village" kind of mindset and care more about community rather than individuals. But political unions still happen, mostly in the Judicator and Templar castes
Preservers are an exeption tho. Since they're trained to basically be walking talking libraries and meant to serve the people as literal living vessels of the sacred Khala. Any act they take as an individual that is not directly seen as something that serves the people is seen as selfish and unfit of a Preserver, which can be anything from taking sides during Conclave politics or having a family. That means you serve a smaller part of the people rather than the whole and that's a big no-no
So her lore kinda clashes with this and idk she might become a Judicator instead hhhhhhhh. I could always say this was some super rare exception done as great honour to her unified and his family/clan/tribe or something.

Fun fact: when I picked up Thrawn 2017, I knew JACK SHIT about who Thrawn was nor his significance. I didnât know about Rebels, Ahsoka, NOTHING. Lexus told me I wouldnât really need any prior Star Wars knowledge to read the book so I just assumed it was just a fun story about some random characters from the greater Star Wars universe.
So when they got to Royal Imperial I was like âohhh so this is a âand they were roommatesâ type story I seeâ AND I WAS SO READY AND EXCITED FOR THE WHOLE BOOK TO BE JUST ROYAL IMPERIAL. I was very surprised when they graduated a chapter or two later đ
God I wish we got more of Royal Imperial bc the set up of two outcasts trying to survive a social setting they donât belong in is so goodâŠ.its so good⊠but thatâs exactly the problem. If Zahn let them bond over that then Eliâs little âdared to see Thrawn as almost a friendâ after YEARS of working together would only be more devastating
Worked on this more than I should have and completely reworked on the first design to make the main source material (the king in yellow) less obvious but still visible. The main idea still stands.
I have yet to write lore but basically something something beast PV from another timeline in search of an equal whom wouldn't go insane around him (a certain blue jester might be just what he's been looking for)
