Reasons why people hate the Cookie Run fandom

(note: this post is not meant to be taken entirely seriously and thus there’s no need to get mad about anything here or start discourse, I’m merely having fun)

Making a canonically pale (not necessarily white) cookie black as night is perfectly fine but god forbid you draw a dark cookie one shade lighter for lighting purposes

”Purple Yam is a racist caricature (even though he’s just a barbarian)”

“Milk is a Nazi and/or crusader (even though those are plus signs and not crosses and he’s clearly a healer)”

“Devsis supports whitewashing and whitewashed Mint Choco in art (even though the art had him closer to the sun therefore because of lighting he would be depicted slightly lighter and he isn’t drawn completely white which is what actual whitewashing is)”

“Aloe is abusive (even though he was just trying to save his friend from dying and, while he may have made some mistakes in the process, isn’t a horrible abusive monster just for not explaining something, who knows he might’ve actually explained it but the memory chips didn’t record it)”

“Devsis erases all of their nonbinary characters (even though said “nb” characters were actually unspecified AKA unknown genders and thus nothing was changed except for the fact that we know the characters’ genders now)”

“Devsis makes all of their nb characters robots or aliens (even though said characters don’t have known genders and the only people putting these labels on them is myself)”

I like how everyone agreed that Millennial Tree is a male, even though their Korean and Japanese(or Chinese) description is gender neutral.

Cookie Run Skin Colors

So,I’ve been seeing alot of critism on what skin colors cookies have.Look,Devsisters themselves don’t care and have alot of art they showcased with different original skin colors.They’re cookies,they don’t have a specific skin color,so please stop critizing the artist and calling them “racist”.The artists themselves try so hard to work on the piece to give you guys something.I understand if it was like the Millenial Tree or DJ,but with other cookies it’s fine to do whatever skin color.Alot of artist do humanize the cookies,including me,and I don’t have a problem,but people will go and say,“You aren’t using the correct colors,and that makes you racist.“Excuse me,I put down "Human Wind Archer"please do read the captions or just keep your opinions to yourself.I don’t really mind it,but there are many people who are big on these things.Please spread the word!

WE NEED TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT ARTICLE 13

Here’s a quick rundown.

Article 13 is still in its final stages of voting. The problem is not that people don’t want to protect copyright, it’s that the LANGUAGE of the LAW is TOO VAGUE and OPEN TO ABUSE. IT COULD PASS THIS YEAR.

This law WILL impact EVERYBODY. Media platforms like YouTube will not bother to have different policies for the EU and for everybody else, they’ll just apply strict EU laws to EVERYONE.

MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WILL LOSE THEIR JOBS. You can yammer on all day about how people shouldn’t be building a career on an industry like YouTube or Instagram anyway, but the world changes, and there is actually not much different between YouTube content creators and traditional media like movies and TV. Youtubers, Instagram models, hell, even kids who use apps like TikTok are either directly or indirectly CREATING JOBS, and you CANNOT deny that. ALL OF THESE JOBS WILL BE PUT IN JEOPARDY IF ARTICLE 13 IS PUT INTO PLAY. THE ONLY CONTENT CREATORS THAT WILL BE ABLE TO THRIVE POST ARTICLE 13 IS BIG MEDIA COMPANIES.

THIS IS NOT FEARMONGERING. Is it scary, even anxiety-inducing that Article 13 could take away the only safe space that some people have—the Internet? YES. But we CANNOT close our eyes and scroll past all the article 13 posts because they make us anxious, or because they make us sad. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Reblog/make posts. Spread awareness. Tell your friends. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IF YOU LIVE IN THE EU, TALK TO YOUR REPS. IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO SAVE OUR INTERNET.

We’re currently going through a scare on Tumblr where your blog could get taken down at any time for any unclear reason, because they’re cracking down on child porn. That is good, but many people with perfectly appropriate blogs are having them taken down, too. The thing is, right now, you can still get your blog back without hassle if it is taken down by mistake. Imagine if your blog was taken down simply for making or reblogging a meme, gif of your favorite TV show, or simply producing art that isn’t 100% original, and Tumblr COULD NOT RESTORE IT BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR COPYRIGHT VIOLATIONS BY ARTICLE 13. That could be our reality. Do NOT turn a blind eye to this.

tl;dr Article 13 will 100% change the internet as we know it for the worse, and you aren’t safe even outside of the EU. SPREAD THE WORD. EU RESIDENTS CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES.
