Once upon a time, in the early 2000s where everything was made of glitter and static, I was in a fresh new high school and stumbled upon the "rocker" table where I met a boy who liked girls with small waists and big tits and had no business having opinions on any woman's body. And did things we weren't supposed to because I was young, and naive, and a boy paid attention to me for five whole minutes. And then one day, for seemingly no reason, after being "friends" for six months, he decided to tell me as we walked upstairs from lunch that guys only liked me because I had "big tits". This started the decades long body image issues I still struggle with today. And despite being young, and naive, and desperate for attention, I even knew that was wrong and stopped talking to him.
Fast forward to the 2010s, when I'm in my twenties and drunk. And depressed. and lost in a haze of searching for euphoria in all the wrong places, we reconnected. And he was older, and maybe wiser? He got back from the navy and that was something that impressed everyone, and I guess it impressed me, but not enough to give him any more than friendship which he seemed to want. Seemed. I also had a boyfriend. So he stayed at arms length. became a friend. I confided in him about being sexually assaulted by a classmate of ours. He sympathized. He smiled. He told me he would have killed him if he knew. He acted like he could. he had bullets tattooed on his arm that he heavily implied he got for such an act during war. I wasn't impressed, but I needed a friend.
Then my boyfriend and I broke up, and he swooped in acting like a hero. And took me out, and came over, and tried to be supportive. But his empathy was drenched in lies. He wanted something at the end of his sympathy. He told me as much. I told him I only wanted friendship. He told me he would wait like that was romantic. I told him to stop. I told him to stop putting his arms around me in public. To stop touching me because it reminded me of that same guy who got me drunk and passed out and took advantage. He told me he didn't have to listen to me. He told me he was different (LIKE WHAT?)
I took a step back, but unfortunately he was intertwined with the friend group. Until he became a cop. Then he wrote this whole long FB post about how his "friends" (MY Friends), judged him for becoming a cop and whined and whined and whined and then ended his rant with how he "didn't care". I was snarky that day. I wrote that if sure acted like he cared.
texted me and called me a whore. and that guys only like me because I'm easy. That I have terrible taste in men and will never be happy.
He was fired from the police force in 2019 because he wrote bogus violations against his ex-fiance's new boyfriend.
Now he is a voice actor and wrote several books on Amazon. They are authored by AI. He wrote a review on one of his own books using his real name (he uses a pen name) that is also written with AI.
Anyway, I've been with my husband for 12 years (we met a month after he sent that text). We have been married for 7. Live in a house far far away with our dog and kid and I get to write fanfiction for fun without using a stupid robot.
