"I'm just happy people are reading"
Well, I'm not. Reading didn't get its reputation as a way to increase intelligence and language skills by books being nonsense. Yet get 0 points for reading porn slop. We're in a stupidity crisis. Snobbery and pretension are survival tools now. Everyone tighten the fuck up.

I love all books but sometimes you read a book and you’re like so were all 21 thousand of you blindfolded and at gun point when you rated it 5 stars
The thing is I don’t think mercy replaces justice or makes it void, I think it incorporates then goes beyond justice. I think it’s bigger.
Across tumblr no one owns a truck for clout and that’s quite a good thing.
To start 30% of tumblr users don’t own their own car, which already eliminates quite a lot of potential truck havingness you see.
Then among the car havers, the most common kind is a 20 year old sedan that was purchased for $2,400 and will be driven until the rims weather into sediment and become a new kind of sedan sedimentary rock called a sedanimentary rock. The second most common kind of car is a Subaru purchased by two lesbians who are no longer in a relationship but remain good enough friends still to be effective car co-parents.
Now this does leave an amount of truck havers. About 0.5-1% according to science. But importantly when you ask them about the truck the answer is “yeah my job is to pull stuck bulls out of the mud on the farm” and then they pull away and you get to see all the muddy bulls in the back of their truck, which is a real treat.

The Odyssey but make it a Christian allegory.
The war is over, it's won. The king is coming back. But no one knows when he will return, they just wait for him. And evil forces are at work, plotting, abusing, taking over. But the king is coming--he has won the war and he is coming home. He will bring justice and punishment for evil when he returns, and he will claim his bride and elevate his son. No one knows when he is coming, but his wife remains faithful, waiting. His son remains watchful, waiting.
The king is coming.
I'm crying, OP, I'm crying
remember to bury the dead with a phone, everyone. these days the ferry terminal at the river styx wants you to download a fucking app
i feel like there's gottabe an inbetween of "you must only feed your child meat and you must only eat meat and be outside 22 hours of every day and teach them to read and use the restroom independently at 6 months old and if you wear anything other than cotton you'll explode immediately" or "ipad baby forever" like i feel like there is an inbetween but if you look anywhere online there is not actually
Normal, well-adjusted, nuanced parents are generally not online telling everyone else how to raise their baby.
"People are not property!" - *loud cheering*
"This includes prisoners! They are not suddenly property of the state when they're convicted!" - *a little less cheering*
"And that includes children who are not their parents' property!" - *almost no cheering*
"What? I thought we said people aren't property?"
I'm gonna say that there really should be an understanding of dependence, fiduciarity, and authority separate from ownership, and describing either modern-day authority over children by parents or modern-day incarceration of criminals really doesn't make sense to describe as ownership unless someone is doing something extremely wrong.
I also think that proposals to reduce the paternal authority of parents rarely fail to be a power-grab by the state and also an attempt to establish the means to commit cultural genocide even if the intent is not there.
