(tone of complete and utter exhaustion) this is the day that the Lord hath made
My favouritest sport fact ever is that in 1990s 2 cardiac surgeons watched an f1 race to save the lives of countless kids. The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) kept losing the lives of patients after successful heart surgeries. Specifically the 10-15 minutes after a bonefide clinically successful surgery patients would die:
And so the two surgeons filmed a handover after heart surgery and sent it to the Ferrari pitcrew who were told to critique and improve handover process
And from this:
we got this:
The error rate during patien handovers dropped from 30% to 10% with the F1 informed protocol.
I literally love this fact so much because being an pitcrew member is such a thankless job because theyre underpaid and overworked mechanics and they literally saved lives in this instance.
Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital turned to Formula 1 for answers. By studying Ferrari’s pit-stop teamwork, they redesigned how patien
I love this!
And it that it wasn't a one and done.
The doctors went to the race tracks to watch the car changes and the pit crews went to the hospitals and watched a live transfer and offered suggestions and they kept working with them to improve.
After there was a successful improvement of the most vital metrics of a handover of a patient from surgery to ICU, the pit crews also worked with other hospitals for other procedures and it's now a whole thing of trying to apply the specialized, streamlined and speedy teamwork and nonverbal coordination of pit crews to other high-risk fields.
This is a perfect example of how two very different fields of knowledge meeting can make a huge leap forward in progress.
LATERAL THINKING AND CONSULTING EXPERTS OUTSIDE YOUR FIELD SAVES LIVES
Ocean queen Lizzie.. I miss her😢
Imagine all the things I could do if I just did them.
rip king, truly nobody was doing it for weird sci-fi and fantasy obsessed nerds like you 💔
Guess who found out about the title generator XD
*asks a question* *gets an answer* “im not reading that”
i love that it’s a carefully worded, well-written, non-inflammatory answer too. which asker wouldn’t know because they won’t read it. i love website

Here are some funny, less common and less functional time travel duos for fanfic writers to consider:
Ahsoka and Maul back to the Clone Wars (these two would get a lot done but confuse a lot of people while they're at it)
Dooku and Obi-wan (I've actually seen some of these, and they're really great) back to when Obi-Wan was a child OR right before TPM
Han and Anakin back to TCW (Father in law bonding, hellish edition)
Leia and Anakin back from the end of ROTJ to ANH (Father daughter bonding, hellish edition)
Piett and Vader from the end of ROTJ to ANH or ESB (Pray for Piett)
If I think of more I'll add them
So Naboo knew about Padmé and Anakin.
In the Vader comics a group of the rebels specifically loyal to Padmé attack Vader. They believe that Vader killed Padmé and at least suspect Vader killed Anakin either protecting Padmé or was in the temple during the attack.
One rebel, who was at the battle of Naboo, gets lightsabered right as he yells; “For Padmé!” And as he falls with his dying breath; “and for Anakin.”
Anakin must have been beloved by Naboo. He helped the queen get to coruscant to plead the senate, saved them during the battle, and has repeatedly saved Padmé’s life.
Padmé’s grave was also for Anakin and their children. So many people must have see her “pregnant” at the funeral and only felt more heartbroken. Not only did their former queen and current senator die, so did her entire young family. Wife, husband, and child.
Behind some wall in Padme’s grave is a hidden memorial for Anakin. Hero, Jedi, husband, father. A carving of Anakin holding his saber hilt looking asleep like Padmé’s sarcophagus.
Pooja and Ryoo going to visit “Aunt Padmé and uncle Ani”. Only remembering him through a carving.
One of the Naberries or Amidala handmaids showing Luke and Leia. Luke grateful to have some of his father’s legacy preserved alongside his mother. Leia is grateful for a place to mourn her mother and hero, and to know her maternal family.
Luke only going back to Tatooine retrieve something of Shmi’s and Obi-Wan’s to bring to Anakin’s memorial.
it genuinely melts my brain watching people take sith monologues at face value like they’re TED talks instead of… you know… villain speeches.
like. these are not neutral historians. these are not unbiased narrators. these are men who wake up every morning and choose manipulation as a lifestyle.
and yet people hear palpatine whispering into anakin’s ear like “the jedi are hiding things from you… they don’t trust you…” and go. wow. compelling. source: dude in a hood who has never told the truth once in his life.
HELLO???
of course he’s going to say that. what else is he supposed to do. sit anakin down and go “hi yes i am actively trying to emotionally isolate you from your support system so i can turn you into my apprentice and ruin your life” like be serious 😭
same with maul going “you’ve been indoctrinated by the jedi” as if HE wasn’t raised in a sith pipeline since childhood. sir. that is not a revelation.
and dooku. walking around like a philosophy professor going “the republic is corrupt” yeah okay, we know, and your solution is… fascism with extra lightning???
like yes. the jedi made mistakes. but, they’re an institution, not a divine being. but the leap from “the jedi aren’t perfect” to “the sith are telling the truth actually” is INSANE to me.
Nurture not nature:
Leia Organa is like her parents before her. She is cunning, intelligent, and rebellious at heart. Just like Breha and Bail Organa raised her to be.
Luke Skywalker is like his parents before him. He believes he can solve conflict by being kind. He believes in helping people who can’t help themselves. He believes there is still good in the world but he is not blind to the corruption of it. Like his parents Owen and Beru Whitesun before him.
