Anyway so I think Qifrey needed a home and Olruggio needed a family and they found those things in each other. They gave those gifts to each other.

But they also mutually do not recognize that they provide that for the other person, and so just feel lucky to be allowed to stay. Because they're stupid 🥰🥰 And also because they're medically not allowed to have a fully honest conversation. 🫩

Hey so if Coco does tell the other apprentices or they all somehow end up finding out- I bet they all start their own search on how to heal Qifrey. Maybe they go down different paths to join up later or maybe they set out together from the start. Whatever the case- if this happens, it is MANDATORY that someone somewhere makes a Drag Path edit showing Qifrey being the gentle parent he is to the girls and paralleling each example with that girl and her concern and attempts to help Qifrey.

The core of this story is reaping what you sow- and Qifrey chose to instill love and kindness and determination into his pupils. 😭

Still thinking about telling my therapist the shit going on with Orufrey and her, losing her professionalism for just a moment cause she’s human, going “what the FUCK??? That’s SICK AND TWISTED”. Love when she just *gets it*, ya know?

qifrey has to start taking drastic measures after the events of Silver Eve

agott confessing to qifrey that she feels bad about how she treated coco when they first met and qifrey gets a far away look in his eye and is like "when i first met olruggio he saved my life and then i started a fight with him that had to be broken up by the knights moralis captain" and agott's like "...ok that does help thank u".

one of my fav theories i've seen people talk about is the idea that olruggio uses a variation of the phantasmal fireball to burn the silverwood out of qifrey. a fire that doesn't burn humans, but burns wood.

and thinking about that makes me view this panel with a lot of interest.

because why is olruggio in this panel? if you follow the flames of the phantasmal fireball, it's traveling across the panel to custas, who is also afflicted with a silverwood. it looks like custas is burning from olruggio's fireball. you can even see the smoke billowing out from the flames as the roots go wild.

it makes sense to see olly's fireball since custas is talking about who gets to decide which magic is allowed and we see olruggio talking about why he can't sell his fireball cause it's dangerous. however, we're seeing a fireball that isn't supposed to burn people take hold of custas. it's also burning custas without causing injury though so maybe that's bc that fire is going to the silverwood? olruggio will cure custas of the silverwood just like qifrey.

i hope that's what this is foreshadowing anyway bc olly burning the silverwood with his fireball is simply the coolest option.

i love richeh because at first glance she's quiet, withdrawn, and you think she's the shy kid of the group. but no. she'll kill you. that girl is ready to murder at any time of the day. just the stubbornest, most obstinate, most self-confident child on the planet. you try to tell her she can't do something, and she'll not only ignore you, she'll do the thing while conjuring sparkles and somehow utilizing crystals. respects maybe three whole people in the world and doesn't even try to hide it. said ACAB, out loud, to the cop's face after physically attacking the cop. best little girl representation of all time.

Started a new WIP! Something something about Olly being Qifreys guiding light since they were children ✨

Theory that Coco tells the other apprentices about the silverwood tree and that’s what pushes Tetia to commit to choosing to mingle magic and medicine

Theory that this story started with the love between a child and a parent being the driving momentum of the plot and it will be the love between children and parents that will be the driving momentum to changing society as they know it

Theory that Agott will be tempted by her mother, invited to be an apprentice finally so that her mother can use her now evident skill. Agott will have to choose between Qifrey and her mom and she will pick Qifrey, realizing the parent she always wanted was actually right there by her side.

Theory that Qifrey is not a tragedy in the making but is actually the key to his own salvation that he found not by hunting down the brimmed hats and prioritizing his revenge and want for a better life. But by being the loving parental figure and proud teacher he has been towards these girls who would and will reshape the world for him
