when you get into a literal Struggle match at the very beginning of a pokemon game you know you’re in for a fuckin ride

lemme elaborate on pokemon sun the literal first trainer on route 2 has a gastly its moveset is Lick, Hypnosis, Spite, and Mean Look meanwhile im using my munchlax, with Tackle, Metronome, Hold Back, and Happy Hour this was a fucking recipe for disaster i figured i could just fire off a Happy Hour to rack up more prize money and take care of the rest with Metronome, but by the time i rolled a single damaging move, i was out of pp from Spite that, combined with the fact that it used Mean Look immediately from the start, led to a 30 minute long battle of wasting each other’s pp until SOMETHING happened but anyway eventually gastly Struggled itself to death and i really don’t know why i didn’t just soft reset instead of going through that but here you go
