‹‹If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there››. -Lewis Carroll-
Genevieve is Bernard's younger sister, a passionate young woman who, after the move, dreams of becoming an outstanding professional in the world of literature and art history, but more important to her is the simple fact of being able to live her life without so much fear. She is a tireless dreamer who wants to live her life to the fullest, despite being limited by painful memories of the past and a delicate health condition.
She moves with her brother in search of a new life. Her first days in Japan were a real culture shock and a period full of changes to which she had to adapt: a new country, the beginning of adulthood, living with formerly distant relatives, organizing her life in a new university and helping in the family business of her cousins and uncles. In addition, she was trying to gain more autonomy and not be so dependent on her brother. However, her determination soon paid off. The change of country allowed her to free herself a little from the traumatic events of the past and begin to open up a little more to the world. This sense of freedom led her to make a couple of close friends at her new university and to take charge of the small bar area in the family compound, creating a unique and themed space where people not only enjoyed what the hosts offer, but also good music.
Since she was a child, Genevieve showed a special affinity for the arts. She took singing and piano lessons, as they were among the few activities she could do without compromising her health. For this reason, she and Bernard began to collaborate not only with the decoration and organization of the space in the family business, but also to perform in order to provide live music. With the success of their performances, she came up with the idea of formally forming a band to bring variety to the nights they performed. Thus, the two siblings began the mission of creating and distributing flyers to attract fans like themselves who wanted to participate in this small project. That's how they met Raiden and Issey. Eventually, the four of them formed ‹‹Last Cynical Irony››, a band led by Genevieve that, from their first performances, was a hit with frequent customers and people at the family venue. The mix of alternative music genres, psychobilly, punk, some metal and the Dark Cabaret highlight made them very appealing.
In the case of Issey, he had several chance encounters with Genevieve before joining the band: the first time was when she was handing out flyers and the second time was during one of her routine medical check-ups with Jakurai, her head doctor since she arrived in Japan and who was Issey's practice supervisor. The strange boy with the dark and scary vibe caught her attention from the first moment, and you could say she had a little “crush at first sight” without knowing exactly why, something that grew during the auditions, when she realized that this serious boy was a prodigy, as Jakurai used to say. Although his pessimistic attitude and cynical personality were questionable, Genevieve had the patience for him that her brother and Raiden didn't -despite understanding them well enough, as Issey is definitely not easy to deal with. However as the band grew in popularity, and they became more integrated as a group, there were changes in everyone; as one of the many consequences of these bonds, her relationship with Issey grew stronger, and although he was more reserved with his feelings, the chemistry between them was undeniable. Together, they faced the challenges of their day-to-day lives by supporting each other every step of the way.
As a band, they maintained an excellent dynamic and Genevieve enjoyed learning alongside them. With Raiden she usually shares casual chats and she also used to lecture him as much as Bernard does; besides, she enjoys seeing his work as a tattoo artist and having him explain the process of each of his pieces. As for Issey, from the beginning there was a visible chemistry between the two, although Genevieve is much more sincere with her feelings than he is. They went from being just “bandmates”, as Issey used to say, to becoming great friends and then a sort of informal love affair, waiting to make it official for good.
What made Genevieve most happy about having formed the band is that they all felt like a family, not a perfect one of course, but one that knows how to find balance. She especially enjoyed watching the dynamic and complicity between her brother and his new teammates. For her, observing their interactions was like putting together a puzzle of thousands of pieces that, although they didn't seem to fit together, ended up forming something incredible. Between the three of them, their weaknesses and strengths flowed by virtue of improving: her brother's creativity and determination, Raiden's fearless manner, and Issey's intellect. One night, they even began to joke and play games with each other. In the midst of those games, they started a sort of style competition and, as they rapped, they realized that they did moderately well, much better than they expected, since it was not their usual style. Seeing their performance, Genevieve mentioned that if they were to form one of those famous divisions like the ones scattered all over Japan, they wouldn't do so badly. However little did she know that that comment would be enough to awaken in them a need they didn't know they had, and they decided to take a chance on forming ‹‹Dar-K-Barett››, a division that, although it started informally, was finding its own voice and purpose.
And although Genevieve is not part of the division directly due to health issues, she has always supported them from the beginning. Even taking advantage of meeting other divisions and learning from her, helping in any way possible. In fact, she has her own Mic -mainly for self-defense-, but she doesn't use it much as it affects her negatively. Even being close to other rap battles causes him different problems… However, he is still fascinated and curious about this new technology and how it became so popular in Japan.

Gene ➪ It is the affectionate nickname that almost everyone says to her as a way to reduce her name a little bit.
Little Princess/ Missy/ Shortie/ Hobbit/ Little Boss/ Mini-Bernard/ Madame/ Voice of Conscience ➪ Nicknames that Raiden often calls her as a playful and annoying way to tease her, though they are mostly out of affection. Although she never likes being called a miniature version of her brother, she takes most of Raiden's nicknames very well.
Sis/ Gennie/ Little Brave/ Tiny Tea Cup/ Little Pip/ Sweet Biscuit ➪ These are affectionate nicknames Bernard usually calls his little sister.
Gremling/ Stubborn/ Sweet Perdition/ Beautiful Delirium/ “Anima mea” ➪ And another series of romantic nicknames with a perhaps dark and original touch that Issey always dedicates to her in the midst of his own odyssey of accepting the deep feelings he has for her.
Staying active, learning new things and being of service to others.
The small details and moments of life: A rain in the middle of the night, a letter, watching the sunrise or sunset, having a cup of tea with your loved ones, enjoying a good chat, laughing with friends…
Singing at the top of her lungs as if there were no tomorrow. To give the best of herself on stage while her fingers travel across the piano and captivate the audience together with her band mates.
Tea time, especially red fruit tea, just like his brother.
Listening to people talk about something they are passionate about.
Accompanying her cousin to do some shopping and chores.
Seeing the stars when she feels a little suffocated or overwhelmed by situations.
Thinking that the people who have left us are still with us in some way.
Seeing the results of her brother's work.
Medical examinations, although it is a matter of necessity.
Being limited by her illness or reduced to being a sick girl.
Her health problems, both physical and mental. Since she feels that there is no plateau period where she feels at peace, but that it is always like being on a roller coaster where she can be right or wrong in a matter of no time.
Remembering the past, especially thinking about her stepmother who was the person who hurt her so much when she was already vulnerable because of young age and her illness.
That Bernard overprotects her too much and continues to treat her like a little girl who is always in danger.
People who take advantage of others.
Drastic temperature changes.
Scars and weaknesses on her body.
Being underestimated and not being able to experience life as it is.

The diseases she mainly suffers from are Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, a slight iron deficiency and congenital immunodeficiency problems. Therefore, it is easier for her to catch illnesses and infections, even something as simple as a cold can be very complicated for her.
It gives her a bittersweet feeling to be told that she resembles her late mother, who died when she was only 4 years old.
She always carries a walking stick, which she claims is for aesthetics, but in reality she usually carries it as a support when she feels dizzy or loses some strength when she is on the street.
In the future, she would like to work in a museum as a tour guide, since she likes the idea of learning a little about the culture and artistic expressions that have marked history. In fact, she would also like to study museology in the future.
She is very accustomed to the environment of clinics and hospitals, so it is quite common for her, even though she does not enjoy it. For the same reason, she is adapted to the routine check-up and examination protocols.
Bernard prepares her natural shakes every morning to help her strengthen her immune system and increase her defenses.
Genevieve, because of her health condition, is very susceptible to rap battles with hypnosis microphones , even though she herself has one for self-defense reasons. However, that suceptibility has different phases depending on her involvement: if she is an expectant, she feels dizziness and general weakness, even if she is not the person attacked, she is somehow affected by the actual exchange between the combatants; on the other hand if she is directly involved, her organism is activated in a purely alert state and dominated by her sympathetic nervous system, meaning that she seems to be unaware of any of the damage she suffers in a battle, developing a ridiculously brutal momentary resistance that puts her at an imminent advantage. However, as soon as the supposed danger disappears, everything she experienced before takes its toll on her all at once leaving her in very bad condition.
In relation to the above, Issey has developed studies together with her to try to better understand this resistance linked to an extreme ‹‹amygdala hijacking and fight-or-flight response›› and how to help her. For while it can be very beneficial, but the consequences she herself can experience are serious. However, she finds it curious that her organism reacts this way while others seem to be unaffected by the dominance of the sympathetic state so brutally.
Her father remarried when she was around 5/6 years old, initially she believed that this new person entering her life would be a being of light who would bring happiness to her father and someone to share with… However, she was the person who severely damaged her family, with her being the main victim. This woman took it out on her because she was the smallest and most vulnerable, besides, as in the beginning she was gentle, affable and angelic, it was easy to convince her father and Bernard that nothing was wrong and that the small problems were caused by the adaptation period of the little girl who wanted to draw attention to herself. That they didn't believe her until the matter went to another peak of seriousness, was something that marked Genevieve very much.
She boasts of having a very trusting bond with her brother, she had always been that way, however, she became a little more closed about how she felt after the experience with her stepmother.
After the bad experience, she was institutionalized for intermittent periods in a mental health institute. It was for the same reason that she saw classes with personal teachers and then had a hard time adjusting when she was reintegrated back into her London school.
He attended all his elementary and middle school in London. Where she was a much more withdrawn and insecure person, she found it difficult to make friends and lived with constant paranoia and delusions of being persecuted even by her stepmother. That is why many of her classmates, unaware and indolent of her mental and physical struggles began to pick on her. In addition, a small slip on the part of a teacher who thought it would be a good idea to raise awareness only made the situation worse.
She moved to Japan with her brother when she was 17 and it was there that she began her new odyssey in search of new opportunities, a fresh start and leaving the past behind.
She and Bernard often talk every night with her father by video call, as he stayed in London to continue running the small language and cross-cultural opportunities company and venture he once founded with his late wife.
Due to many of the things her bad experience with her stepmother caused her, claustrophobia is one of those.
She and Kenichi were the most supportive of Bernard over his previous partners, and between them they often scold him when he doubts his own abilities or loses his temper trying to do too many things he can't keep up with.
Her current best friends are girls from Norway named Ayla Gulbradsen and Eira Eiríksdóttir who also got scholarships to study in Japan.
She thinks Issey, although he doesn't look like it and sometimes seriously makes everybody hate him, is one of the sweetest people she has ever met. She feels extremely safe with him and enjoys his company.
Jakurai became her family doctor as soon as she arrived in Japan, she considers him to be a very honorable and respectable person.
Initially, when she found out that Issey was Jakurai's practitioner from that one doctor's appointment where they met, she started trying to schedule all her appointments on days that Issey was also attending.
She usually knows several people from other divisions and gets along ridiculously well with Samatoki.
She likes to dance a lot, although she tends to get physically tired quickly after a couple of rounds.
Like her brother, she mostly understands Japanese well and can speak it as it is her second language… However, because they lived their whole lives in London and only spoke Japanese when visiting family, there are still things that need to be repeated to them in a slower tone and they don't have such perfect pronunciation, so they are recognizable by the way they speak with strange intonation.
She tend to have frequent nightmares and night terrors, so she tend to wake up at night. Another common occurrence is sleepwalking around the house.
