New Town, New Friends || Jas & Aiden

Jasmine nodded and smiled. “Yeah, I guess that’s better.” she said and started walking next to Aiden. Jasmine tried to break this silence just like Aiden did, but she was afraid that she would get confused and forget what she wanted to say. Her thoughts were totally insane. Jasmine had gotten out of her mind. So, she just decided to open her mouth and say whatever her mind told her. “Um…so. Do you have any siblings here?”she asked. After realising what she just said she smiled. Jasmine was proud of herself about the silly thing she said. Asking if someone has siblings? She never asked that and that’s why it seemed so silly to herself.

As they continued to walk, Jasmine thought of what else to say to break the silence once again as she did before with that “silly” thing she had said. She asked about siblings , because she was talking with her older brother earlier. He had gone to the town to visit her for just one day and left. It was a really nice day for Jas, just because of that. And now she had another thing to be happy for this day, she was out with a new friend and she was really excited, but nervous too. “I asked you about that, because today I met my older brother.” she said before Eiden replied. She just wanted to make sure that Aiden didn’t think that she was silly like she thought she was.

Aiden smiled as they walked, enjoying the silence while worrying about it at the same time.  He hoped he wasn't being boring or anything, but he seriously couldn't think of anything to say.  Thankfully, Jas broke the silence before it became overwhelming.  "Uh, yeah.  I have a sister... Her name's Katie.  She's 10 years old.  We get along, like, 50% of the time, I guess," Aiden finished, chuckling to himself.  He really could get along quite nicely with Katie.  Perhaps they would have fought more if they were closer in age- but being 7 and a half years apart gave them enough space to grow closer while still keeping a normal sibling distance.

Aiden fought back a bigger smile at Jas's reply.  She was justifying herself, which was totally unnecessary but showed that she was more self-conscious that he had originally thought.  Maybe the two of them were more alike than he had first realized.  "How old is your brother?" He asked, curious.  "Are you guys close?" he added to the question, wondering if it was a big occasion for her to meet with her brother.  He didn't want to assume that every pair of siblings had a good relationship, because he knew for a fact that this wasn't always true.

Yoga Party || Aiden & Rosalie

"My whole life. My great great grandparents actually helped found it, actually." Rose glanced sideways, taking in Aiden’s strong profile. In that moment, Rosalie wanted to share something she had never said out loud before. She felt an overwhelming wave of safety and protection like no matter what happened if she was with him, it’d be okay. After muling it over in her head for a long time she finally tried to utter the words, "I-" Rose’s voice caught and she suddenly felt nauseous, but the feeling of loneliness was pulling her under, no matter how hard she kicked and pulled and fought it, it was never enough. So Rose spoke, the words stumbling off her tongue and out of her lips, "I was raped."

Letting out a breath she didn’t know she was holding, Rosalie elaborated, “I was 14. His name was Michael. Business partners with my dad. He raped me. I’ve never told anyone, never actually said those words before. And that’s why everyone thinks I’m such a slut. Wait, no, I- I mean, I am a slut, I’ve slept with a lot of people, but I sleep with them because of what happened… I’m sorry, I’ll stop talking now. Just forget I said anything.”

Rosalie felt like 2 centimeters tall, she wanted to shrink down and disappear. Aiden still hadn’t responded to her confession and she regretted it deeply. Glancing sideways, Rose began chewing on her fingernails, a nervous habit she had picked up, just yearning for any kind of a response from the boy that had captivated her heart and mind.

Aiden smiled.  "That's really cool!" he replied, happy to know that at least one of them would know their way around this town.  He started drumming his fingers idly on the car's window, trying to drum the nervous energy out of himself.  He certainly wasn't expecting the next words to come out of Rosalie's mouth- that was for sure.  His eyes grew wide as the air seemed to be sucked out of the room.  He had no idea what had brought this type of confession on, especially because they barely knew each other.  Aiden didn't know whether to feel happy that she trusted him or worried that he might be the only person that she'd ever told.

"I..." Aiden started, voice wavering slightly.  "I'm so sorry.  You- you didn't- no one deserves to be raped, and I- I can't even imagine... you must..." he sighed, the words not really coming out right.  He had no idea what to say.  What did one say to a rape victim, anyway?  He bit his lip and looked at Rosalie, who was currently gnawing on her fingernails.  "Don't call yourself a s-slut."  AIden stumbled on the word, not used to using it.  "You... you're a lot more than just who you've, um... slept with," Aiden finished, clearing his throat.  He hadn't really know about Rosalie reputation to begin with, but he was glad that he had heard the words from her and not from someone else.

"You sleep with a lot of people... because you feel like you don't matter?" Aiden said, almost a rhetorical question.  "But- but you do matter.  You matter a lot.  And I'm not going to forget you said anything, because I think you're really, really brave for speaking up about it.  I think you have a lot of courage, being able to pull yourself through something like that, and you just... you just need to give yourself more credit."  He chewed his lip in thought.  "And for the record, I don't think you're a slut."

Hey guys so I have been under a lot of stress with schoolwork, hence the whole not being around today and yesterday thing.  I'm about to respond to my paras, and I'll try and be more active tonight :)

Yoga Party || Aiden & Rosalie

Rosalie bit her lip and scrunched up her nose a bit at Aiden’s awkwardness. She liked him. Even though she met him a few days ago she was really starting to like this guy. It was crazy. He was two years younger and she was way out of his league but there was something about him, his shy awkwardness was so unbelievably cute, but the way his biceps moved underneath his tight short sleeve shirt made her want to reach out and feel it.

"Alright, just… c’mon." Rosalie pulled open her car door and slid in, cranking it as she watched Aiden awkwardly stumbled in. Rosalie flipped down the visor and fixed her hair before applying a bit of gloss to her already red lips. "I know this really cute place…" She flipped the visor up, "It’s Italien…" And put the car in reverse, "It’s a bit of a drive…" And slowly backed out, "But it’s worth it." And with that, Rose drove out of the parking lot and down the street.

Aiden smiled at Rosalie before promptly tripping over his own feet into the passenger seat of the car.  He decided that he probably shouldn't make a habit of staring at Rosalie while getting into vehicles.  He quickly buckled his seat-belt and bit his lip in anticipation of what was to come, and wherever they were to go.  He listened to Rosalie as she talked, his heart fluttering wildly in his chest.  She- wow.  She had a really, really nice voice.  Could she get any more perfect?  

Aiden knew he was exaggerating in his head, and that logically no one was perfect.  But somehow this girl didn't seem to fit the mold of reality.  After all, she was talking to him, which never happened with other gorgeous girls.  Or girls in general, for that matter.  He exited his thoughts quickly to answer Rosalie.  "That sounds great," he said, a slow smile creeping onto his face.

Silence soon filled the car, and Aiden wracked his brain for something to say to the girl next to him.  His heart was pounding and he felt his forehead starting to sweat from his nervousness. "Um..." he started, clearing his throat, "how long have you lived in Ashtown?  It seems really, um, nice," he concluded, not mentioning that she was most of the reason for that.

So I have a TON of homework that I saved until the last minute (meaning today) plus I have to finish my college essay so... yeah I'm screwed.

Anyways, I probably won't be on until much later.  To the peeps that I'm paraing with, I totally apologize but this means you won't get a reply until tonight or tomorrow morning.

Jasmine nodded and smiled. She started walking and then stoped for a moment to make sure that Aiden was following her. “So. Do you want to go with my car or walk?” she asked and let a smile come out. Then she thought for a moment about what she had just said. She was totally out of her mind and didn’t know what to think about. And finally she realised that she had to just stop thinking and start doing things. That would be a lot better, at least she thought, even though she didn’t want to think anymore. But if she stoped thinking she wouldn’t be herself and Jasmine didn’t know if she wanted to change what she liked and what she used to be. Then she suddenly changed her mind and started thinking about everything again. It was the wrong thought of a moment and she could change it, really easy. Jasmine wasn’t ready for such a big change, so she just stayed the way she was.

"If you want to go with the car, it’s over there!" she said and showed him where her car was parked. "Otherwise, we can start walking." she continued and showed him the way to where they should go if they were going to walk. Then she stopped talking to let Aiden think and decide which way they were goinng to the square. This time she stopped thinking, because she had ran out of ideas of what to think, so she just kept a smile on her face, while she was waiting for Aiden to reply to her question. It felt weird that she didn’t know what to think about, it was the first time in her whole life, since she was fourteen. Then she was reading all the time and she needed a break so she stopped for a moment.

Aiden followed Jas until she suddenly stopped in her tracks.  He thought for a moment before responding to her question.  "I think we should walk, if- if that's alright with you, that is," he said finally.  Walking would be nice, he figured, because it would give them time to get to know each other.  They could also take in some fresh air while they were at it, which would definitely be a plus.  The day was bright and sunny, after all.  And who knows?  Maybe it would give him some much-needed writing inspiration.  This town seemed quite interesting, so hopefully something cool would catch his eye for later on, when he was back in his comfort zone (in front of the computer).

Aiden began to walk in the direction that Jas had pointed in.  "Um, are you ready?" Aiden said, stopping and smiling.  He sincerely hoped that he wouldn't have any more awkward silences along the way, but he was highly doubtful that this wouldn't happen.  He was so completely out of practice with socializing.  This trip with Jas was definitely a good thing- helping him test the waters and such.  Aiden began walking again, this time with Jas at his side.  The air was quiet between the two of them.  He wanted to say something, anything... but he was too scared, too nervous to try.

I lied before.  Not intentionally- I just couldn't focus on my essay for college apps.  So I played guitar after eating lunch.  Which basically means that now I have to stop posting so I can finish my essay.

Yeah, I was born not far from London but I moved to Chicago when I was about 4 or 5 and then lived there till a few years ago when I moved here.

Oh, that's really cool!  I mean, I've never been out of the country.  London sounds like a nice place though, from what I've read.

New Town, New Friends || Jas & Aiden

Jasmine didn’t know what to say, she had just met Aiden and she was feeling really weird, but good at the same time. She thought for a moment about where should they go and then smiled. “Would you like to go to…um…”Jasmine stoped for a moment. She felt like she had forgotten everything about this town and she was feeling really awful then she tried to show a soft smile and decided to talk again, since she rememberd something. “How about the square?” she asked him and thought again for a moment. “Is there a square?” she asked herself and then smirked. “Yeah! Do you want to?” she asked once again and then smiled. But at least this smile was a comforting smile without trying to let it out.

She understood that he couldn’t look into her eyes and lookd at him. Then she smiled once again and looked at his eyes, at least she tried to. While she was waiting for Aiden to reply to her question about going to the square, she was looking around like she had never been there before. Jasmine was feeling totally akward, but it wasn’t Aiden’s fault. It was her fault. She tried to remember where they were and finally found out. She had been there with some friends before she left and came back.

As she still waited for an answer she kept a smile painted on her face, she didn’t know why, but she did smile. She wasn’t a kind to smile all the time, but she had changed a bit, since she came back to this small town. She just had to get used to it. Smiling all the time wasn’t too bad. It could make her forget about people judging her and start a new life. She would still like what she did before, but with a smile.

Aiden smiled at Jas.  "Sounds good to me," he answered, shrugging his shoulders.  He certainly hoped that this little "tour" would help him become more familiar with his new home.  And boy, was he unfamiliar right now.  HE had lived in Maryland for his entire life up until now, but even then he didn't know his full way around the town- mostly because he preferred to stay in his room than to go out with nonexistent friends.  He supposed that this move was for the better, though.  Not just for his mom, who had gotten her dream job, but for him, too.  He could start over, and maybe even make friends this time.  He felt really out of his comfort zone, but perhaps that was the secret to creating friendships.

He knew that his sister, Katie, had been hesitant about the move at first.  After all, she had had friends back home.  Tons of them.  She was probably at the top of her school's food chain... or as top as you could be for a 5th grader.  But the sudden move seemed to be fine for her once she had gotten settled in at the local elementary school (thankfully not the same one that his mom worked at- that would have been a disaster).  She already had a ton of friends.  How was that even possible, anyway?  She was having a sleepover party next week, and here he was, with his first maybe-friend.  He was being beaten in the social world by his 10 year old sister.

"Um... lead the way!" Aiden said quickly, snapping out of his train of thought.  His mind tended to wander quite often.  Perhaps that was why he was a good writer; he could carry a story quite easily with his thinking.
