RICK IS NOT SHANE //// rick. is. not. shane.

SHANE IS SELFISH. rick, on the other hand, is the opposite. he’d throw himself to the walkers before any other person within his group. he’d sacrifice himself for his family without so much as a second thought. now let’s look at shane. shane cares for the group, of course. he’d stick his neck out for them BUT in the end, all his motivation for protection is for private gain. remember, he left otis to die in cold blood. he has no compassion. no sympathy for anyone besides himself. rick has compassion, deep down. he has that switch. shane doesn’t. rick, although he doesn’t convey it, wants to keep saving & helping people. he’s accepted the brutality of this new world, that causes his actions. he’s seen good people and the worst kind of people. he plans accordingly. shane is a triggerfinger. he’s brutal because that s him, that’s WHO HE IS. he hasn’t got the switch. he can’t determine who’s bad and who’s good. he’d kill anyone in his way without so much as a second thought. rick plans movements. he’s still got that cop mentality on determining what’s right and wrong, how to approach situations. shane has an element of that SOMETIMES, but at the end, not at all. he doesn’t plan. he acts on impulse. he kills. he doesn’t feel GUILTY. rick still has emotions, shane is emotionless in the end and doesn’t care who he hurts.

earlier i explained that rick is becoming kinda shane but shane is still universally hated. shane SHOULD be hated. he’s a bad guy. he’s killed, he’s a trigger finger hot head without a care who he kills. rick does things for the good of others. he puts people before him. he’s compassionate, he knows what s right and wrong. he’s a good guy turned a bit cray by the brutality and monstrosities he’s seen and had to put up with in the apocalypse !!  *drops mic*
