TBH I don’t get why everyone is all like “oh Esmeralda friendzoned Quasi” because she never gave him any indication that she was into him. She was just a decent person and a good friend and just because he had never known that sort of treatment didn’t mean he was entitled to her romantic affection as well. I know it all turns out in the end and he realizes that other people can also be nice and not fall in love with him- but it just happens so often that men assume women want something romantic when they are just being nice...
