It's been a while since I tried glow effects, but I saw the fireflies and I couldn't resist.

⊱ ۫ ׅ ✧ Disclaimers : I'm not very experienced in making a site skins and i'm not an expert of coding things either so i apologize if there's some places that look odd/hard for you to read. I take no request. Thank you nan11 for helping me fix some minor stuff. pngs and images are from Pinterest + screenshots i took while playing the game on my cousin laptop. I only use my handphone while making this skin, so if other devices look more wonky than it already are, then i can't help you with that🙏. I replaced the og AO3 icons with this black and white icons by @zerafinacss. Dividers by @uzmacchiato.

𓅨 How can i not make my favorite visual novel ever as a site skin when i got the skill and will to do that. There's various routes you can choose in this game so making a skin that captured all of them is impossible for me, so i'm mostly focus on one route which is The Nightmare route. Voice of the Paranoid is one of my favorite voices in the game, his constant "Heart. Lungs. Liver. Nerves." blend in with the horror element and dark atmosphere that The Nightmare brings is just so good, it's thrilling and unnerving at the same time.

Tutorial how to activate the skin + the code :

Copy the code i provided in this GitHub, there is a copy button at the top right(•••) of the code box. And here if you prefer Google doc.

‌Sign to your AO3 account, after that go to "Dashboard".

‌On your "Dashboard", tap on a section called "Skins".

‌On the "Skins" page, tap on the button labelled "Create Site Skin".

‌Give your site skin a unique title, i usually use 2-4 word for the skins that i saved. IF YOUR SKIN NAME IS NOT UNIQUE, YOU CAN'T SAVE THE SKIN.

‌Paste the codes you copied from my GitHub into the "CSS" box.

‌When you're done, scroll to the bottom of the page and click a button labelled "Submit". This will save your site skin and take you to a new page where you can see the title of your skin as well as all of the code.

‌Click "My Site Skin" and you can see the skin are added, press "Use" to activate it.

I don't know why did i do this, but here is the code , I stayed up late working on this, so I hope there aren’t any issues.

setup steps:

click the code link above — it’ll open a long block of code. copy all of it (don’t include the title). it’s way easier to do this on desktop since mobile has copy limits

on AO3, go to your username → dashboard → skins → create site skin

give it a unique title, paste the CSS you copied, then scroll down and hit submit

once it’s created, just click “use” to apply the skin ˚ʚ₍ ᐢ. ̫ .ᐢ ₎ɞ˚

I’m not a native English speaker and I’m still figuring out Tumblr, so please excuse any mistakes.

Step 1: See an absolutely monstrous image on a reddit post about "worst possible AO3 features"

Step 2: realize that you could probably recreate that with CSS

Step 3: spend an hour of time you were supposed to be working just constantly thinking about how to do it

Step 4: spend your lunch hour (and another 20 minutes after work) making the thing

Step 5: profit???

If you would like to make your AO3 works pages look like some sort of cursed timeline full of broken ads, personal information, and AI then grab the code and make yourself a site skin 😆🤣

Note: this removes all of the buttons at the top of a fic and also I built it on my laptop with zero considerations for mobile. This is a shitpost kind of a site skin, so just try it for the visceral horrors and not for actual usability.

that line hit me HARD.

i’ve said something very similar to myself so many times. and it hurts so bad, especially when i’m just trying to help. i’ll try and talk to my friends, bond more with them, but all they say is that i’m weird and i’m annoying.

now, i’m not saying that’s ALL they think about me. i know they love me and usually enjoy talking to me, but what i really want is someone i can be myself with. i don’t want to have to mask around them, because honestly that is way too much work, and i already do it every school day.

but when my friends, my best friends, the people i trust and love the most just brush off my attempts at conversation ? that hurts. it’s like they’re trying to get rid of me sometimes, and it sucks. because i try so, so hard. and trying isn’t always enough.

It’s so refreshing seeing such a healthy mother-son relationship in PJO. Just a single mother who raised her son right and a son who has grown up loved and cherished and taken care of. Mother-son relationship are commonly strained or nonexistent or just overlooked, but it being the driving force of Percy’s motivations for his quest is truly a beautiful thing to see.

Maybe it’s cause I’m a young woman, but I absolutely adore seeing a son think so highly of his mother, respect her beyond belief, and love her with such ferocity. It’s believable and realistic yet uncommon in media.

All I could think about when it showed the pit of Tartarus was that that young boy who tapped his mom on the shoulder to make her smile and makes jokes to hide his unease and loves blue food and just wants to be normal and that young girl who couldn’t pick which candy from the gas station and believes love is transactional and was a gift but then a problem and has never seen a movie are both going to fall into that massive hell.

And they are going to survive it. Together.
