This Doonesbury abortion cartoon was originally written by Gary Trudeau in 2012, in response to a Texas law requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion. It was banned from many major newspapers, and they ran syndicated cartoons in its place.

Now seems like an appropriate time to bring these cartoons back, with the passing of Texas’ new law requiring the burial or cremation of miscarried or aborted fetal remains. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Trudeau decides to write the sequel.

okay the notes on this are both hilarious and kinda infuriating. People from hours and days ago going “wow I didn’t know things were so bad in Texas,” and it’s like, folks, hello, this is from 10 years ago! These were the good old days! Now you can’t get an abortion in Texas no matter what physical indignities you submit to, even potentially if your life is in immediate danger due to the pregnancy!

Changed my AO3 username today as the final piece of my rebranding this year. Changed from moretomhardy > moreplotholes to become totally fandom agnostic on my main username. Ideally this one can last forever as it's not linked to any person or fandom. I am free from all associations except the noble plot hole, the cracks in which all of fandom flourish.

Idk if others are like me, but if a piece of media is, like, too good, I can't really get into it from a fandom aspect that much. But things that are just mostly good, or especially things that could be good, if only x, y, or z, that's what really gets me rotating a fandom from every angle.

Anyways, I doubt anyone cares, but just an FYI!
