QotD: What is your favorite creature from the sea? Hola bookstagram! I can't believe I never talked about this book yet, but before The Trials of Apollo, I read Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan to the fam. We really liked it, although I'm sure I would've appreciated the read more if I ever read the original 5000 Leagues Under the Sea story. I'm not saying you HAVE to read the original story as this is pretty much a remake/sequel to the original duology, it even mentions references from those books. Anyway, I very much loved the characters, especially the protagonist herself Ana Dakkar. I totally will recommend this book to those who like under water adventures, thrilling chases, and a strong kid lead who also asks for help from her friends. 🗡️RaF Update🗡️ Hola bookstagram, It's been a while, but I wanted to give you an update on Revenge and Forgiveness, and that is that I finished reediting RaF! I went ahead and got myself a trial version of Jutoh last night and figuring out how to put an epub together. It's very . . . Strange. There's not much video tutorials out there, so I'm forced to figure out as I go. I really hate that, but I'm trying. Once it's out together I'm hoping to gather some of friends and test out how it looks on their k*ndle. QotD: What's a book series you're hoping to finish this year? Hola bookstagram, guess what book the fam and I just finished yesterday? That's right, we finished book 3 in The Trials of Apollo series. We're definitely going to finish this series before The Sun and the Star comes out, I'm looking forward to reading that one. Other news, kiddo has been battling a fever the last several days, but it was to the point that it kept getting high, so we took him to the hospital. Looks like he caught something called the Croup V*rus. He got medicine for it and now we just have to wait until it passes. He's doing alright today, watching Baby Shark and eating yogurt. 🇵🇷 I'm Back🇵🇷 Hola bookstagram, I'm back from Puerto Rico. Despite what I was there for, it was nice and I missed the island dearly. The food, the people, I didn't so much as miss the crazy driving haha! But hey! I get to check off something off my bucket list, I got to read on a beach! It was only a chapter though, but I dun did it! And it was so nice. There wasn't a lot of people so I got to easily hear the waves crashing on the sand, there was a wonderful breeze, but man that sun was still beaming down on me lol. 😈TCfFP Update👼🏻 Hola bookstagram, Today is March 1st and I thought I'd talk about Pride and how the book is coming along. I know it's been a bit, so here's what's up. My beta readers are currently chipping away at the rewritten manuscript, and I am filled with so much pins and needles that I seriously can't wait to jump into editing it lol. I'm serious, I want to be working on it but I can't because they're still working on it lmao! Anyway, while they're reading Pride, I decided to get a jump start on scheduling the manuscript with an editor, I got a May date 😁, and I reached out to the original cover artist about adjusting the spine. However, you might notice that Pride is no longer listed on the Zon, that's because I got worried I wasn't going to reach my cover artist and pulled it from listing in case I was forced to hire a new artist. Funny story, original cover artist got back to me a day after I did that haha! So we're all good! As much as I want my betas to finish reading Pride, I gotta be patient and let them do their thing. Hola bookstagram, recently I was given the news that my grandmother in Puerto Rico passed away. She was a sweet woman, mother, and grandmother, and I'll miss her dearly. 🍎WIP Teaser🍎 Hola bookstagram, New week, new WIP and the last post of these WIPs for a while. Now let's talk more about my YA Snow White retellings. Today we will be talking about my Huntsman character, Heliodoro Cazador of house Tiburón. He's a young man who's 16 years old and secretly a wanted huntsman. Heliodoro is playful, mischievous, an amazing warrior, and an even amazing dancer. Heliodoro was only 7 when he lost his home and his parents to the undead horde that is the Untote Plague, and what's worse, the huntsmen were also named as culprits in the m*rder of Queen Regina Stark, the same huntsmen that dedicated their lives to being in the service of the royal family. Abandoned, and outraged by such betrayal, Heliodoro's older sister Sabina was chosen as the new leader, and her first act, was to seek vengeance by ass*ssinating the Prince himself who claimed to have witnessed a huntsman m*rder his mother. Being Sabina's brother, Heliodoro was tasked in ass*ssinating the Prince. Make sure he was well trained until he was 10 years old, he was snuck into the city and placed as a potential guard for the Prince, outshining all the rest. He was chosen as a new guard for the Prince after turning 11, the Captain hoping the two would be good friends, but Heliodoro noticed something . . . odd with Prince Siegbert, like a terror had gripped the kid, but he shouldn't focus on that. He was given a task and he would see it through. The Stark royal family betrayed him and his people, and he promised to seek retribution. However, the more he spent time with the Prince, the more he realized that there was something more going on here, more than he realized. Should Heliodoro k*ll Siegbert? And there you have it, Heliodoro's story so far. I'm seriously excited to write this story. You follow a young woman named Ella, who's dying to get away from her step family and go to college for fashion design. That would be . . . A struggle as her step mother has control of how much to give her aaaaand Ella is finding her portfolio wholly underwhelming and needs inspiration to have her portfolio stand out from the rest. So, what does her friend do? A friend connected to Isobel from The Rose Gate, take her to Faerie to have some good, fun times. Why? Because she totally needs it. It's not like Ella is going to sneak up on a conversation of a Seelie Prince needing a bride before his father takes matters into his own hands. Not a problem . . . Right? Oh and there's a sweet loving dragon that gets hatched from an egg and steals anything shiny. Fun times. This was the fourth book I read in this series. It was very fun and cute and I was very invested by the political drama and fashion designs throughout the book. If you're a fan of Cinderella and just want a cute, fun, chill romancy filled read that's also dual pov, give this story a try. Alright, time to talk about book 1.5 in The Faerie Tale Romance series, The Lily Gate by @hannasandvig TLG is a The Frog Prince/The Princess and the Frog retelling with a talking frog who loves sweets, a bachelorette competition, a half fae half human princess who takes charge of her own life, and a true love's kiss. You follow a young woman named Tuala, a fae princess who loves to bake and likes order just as much. This competition to find the love of her life her mother concocted should be simple enough. Fae princes from around the Seelie kingdom just need to take part in 3 competitions, and win each one and earn a . . . Kiss from her. Tuala isn't super stoked to kiss a bunch of guys, but her mother swears that a way to find love is to feel the sparks from their kiss. Alright, should be easy enough, except, someone Tuala was expecting to meet hasn't arrived, even though a talking green frog is telling her otherwise. This was the third book I read in this series. It was so fun and cute and I actually enjoyed the challenges in this bachelorette style competition. 🍎WIP Teaser🍎 Hola bookstagram, New week, but back to ESTSoR WIP. Let's talk more about my YA Snow White retellings. Today we will be talking about my Huntsman character, Fenrir Sigmundson, the second protagonist in ESTSoR. He's a 16 year old young man who is kind, loyal to a fault, and a great baker to boot. When he isn't baking with his Amma, he is either tending to and training the wolves of Grober Schwan, training with his sister and her girlfriend, or listening to what the forest needs of him. Both Fenrir and his older sister are known as Læti, or Voices of the Forest, Jagersens born with crimson eyes and can discern messages from the forest and the ancient beings who've lived in it since the very beginning. When a Lætis birth happens, that means something is coming to challenge the citizens of Grober Schwan and bring danger to their great goddess, Odette. The whispers have begun, and are erratic. The First Úlfr has called to Fenrir, it is time, but danger isn't coming to just Odette, the danger has surrounded High Princess Rein as well. And there you have it, Fenrir's story so far. I don't have everything of his nail down yet, but I'm looking forward to writing this story. Alright, time to talk about book 1 in The Faerie Tale Romance series, The Rose Gate by @hannasandvig TRG is a Beauty and the Beast retelling with a bear shifter, talking fae animals, magic using gold, and a time limit. You follow a young woman named Isobel, aka Bel, a bookish girl, who, while walking the forest to clear her head, gets suddenly attacked by wolves. And in case you're wondering, yes, the same wolves that attacked Audrey in The Wolf Gate. Why? Maaaaaybe because it might have something to do with being able to break a curse over a surly fae Prince placed on him by the evil Unseelie Queen? Definite maybe.
