This has probably become somewhat apparent, but I’m on a hiatus. My fics aren’t abandoned—I intend to finish them one day (I don’t know when)—but I need to take a break.
I had a kid two years ago and being a working parent is rewarding and wonderful and also really fucking hard. There has been a lot going on in my life and fanfic has had to take a backseat.
I debated whether I should say this next part, but I’m going to because I think it’s important. I got a fair number of asks about when my next update would be. Many of these asks were lovely; others left me feeling like people saw me as a content machine instead of a person.
I write fanfic because I enjoy it. It’s a hobby. But these interactions in particular made it start to feel like an obligation and a chore and that was when I started to feel like I needed to take a longer break.
So: I’m on a break. I’ll be back some day and I intend to finish my fics, but I don’t know when. I keep an eye on my fanfic email and Discord, so if you need to get in touch, I’m available there. (I do check Tumblr, but much less regularly).
As long as this post is pinned, this is what my current status is.
