You know what, I used to think there is no character I will hate more than Sakura… well Kishimoto, proved me wrong.
I do hate Sarada more than Sakura including her design, her characterization, what she symbolises and her position in the fandom now.
Her design is clearly subpar, I don’t like anything about her design. from the Manga it looks like Both Mitsuki and Boruto will be the protagonists while Sarada will be the pairing fodder for Boruto.
It annoys me that she is an Uchiha, because to me she is already at a very weak position since she is basically filling Sakura’s role in the team. She is going to be the most forgettable uchiha ever and it pains me she is Sasuke’s daughter.
I used to not like Sakura’s design, BUt I think I prefer Sakura’s design to Sarada. So You can imagine , how much I dislike her Design.
She started out as a strong Character in Gaiden, but by the end of it, she TOO was relegated to being a Naruto and Sasuke Fangirl. The way she comes between Ino and Sasuke, what?
She seemed to be serious about getting some answers in the beginning from Sasuke, but as soon as she sees him, She becomes very passive.?
Nothing she talks about with her father seems to have any impact on Sasuke. Sasuke is still leaving her by the end of the manga . Also, Sasuke is okay with not meeting her all those years . Sasuke doesnt even recognize her. How unbothered about her is Sasuke then? Is he really even her father? I feel like Sasuke is very reluctant about his role in her life , which leads to the next section.
To me Sarada represents everything Sasuke didn’t want to be. It seems that after he was guilt -tripped by Konoha and Kakashi, the reformed!Sasuke, was also forced to settle down. Probably Sakura with all her waiting and chasing down, finally was able to convince sasuke to marry her.Some Girls , they also feel like if the boy is not too interested in the relationship, they should give birth soon to a child. Sarada was probably a weak attempt by Sakura to get him to take notice of her. [ It happens all the time, so don’t be surprised by it, it happened with a friend of mine]
She probably felt, that maybe giving him a heir, like he wanted ( because he wanted to “revive” uchiha clan ) will maybe lead Sasuke to take her more seriously. Even if there is no love in the marriage, maybe a child will make him more committed to it. Sarada represents THAT to me, a manipulative attempt by Sakura to tie down Sasuke , The guilt, the responsibility that was forced on him by Konoha and Sakura…that is why she was chasing him while pregnant , wasnt she?Sasuke clearly feels very little for that kid. He was not interested or cut out to be a father, and knowing Sasuke, I know – He wouldnt have preferred being one, if he was always absent. HE comes across as Irresponsible for abandoning her and also a bit cold in Gaiden. SO basically Sarada’s presence butchers Sasuke’s Characterization. Sasuke is definitely not the kind of person to take up a responsibility and then flake. Sarada’s existence, makes Sasuke look bad, and OOC. Sasuke is not the kind of person who will escape from his responsibility , then why is he this cold with his daughter? It could be because she is not his daughter, just a lab experiment , who sakura decided to bring up? .
Sarada was an attempt by the mangaka at having a new generation kid without showing any SasuSaku development. Sarda’s existence as a character, actually even makes Sakura look bad and their marriage look toxic. It doesn’t seem that Sarada was born out of love , she represents regret.
Sarada ‘s position in Fandom: Until Now Sakura was the self Insert character of the fandom. Oh a girl , who Sasuke vaguely cares about but recently I have noticed a new phenomenon.
Sarada is new self insert Character for all the girls. A mary sue , who not only is an uchiha, but also Sasuke’s daughter— aww the princess!! I hate it!
TL;DR : Sarada Uchiha disgusts me because IT Is her who makes my Favorite character look bad, guilt-ridden and unhappy .
She is truthfully the metaphorical Albatross around Sasuke’s neck. To me , Sarada is the physical manifestation of Konoha’s and Sakura’s manipulation of Sasuke.
