You know for the longest time Naruto probably thought he was the Nine Tails. That the skin and body was just a jutsu or seal. That he, himself, really did wreck the village.

“That’s why I hated everyone in the beginning. They trapped me inside.”

It probably devastated him that he found out the Nails Tails destroyed the village. His home now. And that he killed his brother/sensei/father’s parents. That iruka sensei really did hated him.

It probably tore him inside and, now knowing the “truth”, understood why there was so much hate. Why no one would tell him he had parents. Why he was alone.

And when he met the Nine Tailes himself, I bet you 10 bucks he stared at the fierce eyes and gleaming teeth and thought that this was his true form. This was his power chained behind the flesh. And he looked at the “evil” and started to despise it. This was the reason he was hated. This past version was why he had to go through so much torment.

The monster before him wanted out. And Naruto wanted to stay as “Naruto”. Not the Kyubi. Not jinchuuriki. Not the Nine Tails. But as a leaf village ninja.

So when he met Minato…

The fourth hokage that stopped the Kyubi…

And heard that his name is truly Naruto…

And found out that he had a father…

That he was born like a human with a family…

That he wasnt created as flesh to house a demon…

You start to understand why this scene is very heartbreaking and why some of you started to cry.

For years he carried the burden of being the monster. Of worrying about how long this “Naruto” facade would last before it would be shredded. Only to finally be told that he was human all along.
