I have a question regarding sex stances like sex repulsed/indifferent, etc.

I identity as grey, aego, I would say and I feel sex repulsed.

Imagining someone think about me in a sexual way, touching me or making dirty comments or jokes makes me want to vomit.

However I am a pretty horny person lol I have high libido, masturbate, like erotic content and fantasise a lot.

I don’t know if it’s still sex repulsed since I feel like sex repulsed would be more disgusted by sex in general so even on my side, I would hate thinking about sex etc.

You can be repulsed by some things and not others, it's not a repulsed-averse-indifferent-favourable sliding scale (which is definitely something we as a community have suffered for not making this known), more like a radar chart where everyone has different amounts of averse/favourable they are towards different things (like being repulsed by sex scenes in visual media but being okay with them in written media, and a little squicked by talking about sex in general but very uncomfortable talking about it in relation to yourself, for example).

Like any other label, it's only as good as how useful it is to you, if it helps you to call yourself sex repulsed even if that isn't 100% the case 100% of the time, then it's fulfilling its purpose :)

Hello! I had a question I was wondering if you could answer. Everytime I have a crush on someone, it's never on someone I talk to irl, and texting is fine, the crush is still there, but when we talk face to face any romantic attraction I had for them quickly vanishes?

Like, it's not anything to do with their appearance, I know what they look like, It's just like it becomes real and I realize that I just want to be friends with them. I feel nothing for them in that moment except for maybe platonic attraction. This has happened twice now. Not because this hasn't happened with other crushes, but because I rarely get crushes on people in the first place.

Also, the attraction (at least partially) may or may not return when we're physicallly distanced again.

I'm starting to suspect that I might be aspec somewhere. Help?

i can't think of a specific microlabel for this (although i think i've heard of one like this in passing once? not sure haha), but you could most definitely be some form of arospec! if you think you are arospec, then you are arospec.

the only label i can think of right now is grayromantic, which is the umbrella term for any arospec identity except for aromantic (as in does not experience romantic attraction at all). aromantic itself is also an umbrella term for the entire arospec.

another few possible labels are frayromantic (only romantic attraction to people you don't know well), and akoiromantic/lithoromantic (does not want attraction to be reciprocated and/or attraction fades after it is reciprocated), but that doesn't seem to match your situation very well based off of your description /lh.

what you decide to identify as is your decision, and there is no right or wrong way to be aspec. hope this helps! <3

This is also why drag terrifies them. If gender is a fun costume that you can exaggerate to your whim, put on and take off, be silly or sexy or both, be camp and beautiful or handsome or both in turns? If it isn't all written in permanent ink from before you're born, not just gender itself but gender roles and presentations?

I'm not saying everyone who objects to drag is secretly gay or trans or whatever - though some surely are, just statistically speaking - but that a lot of them are made miserable by their gendered expectations of themselves and others, or rely upon the gendered expectations they have of others to control those other people. (And I don't just mean men, don't get it twisted - people of all genders enforce patriarchal gender roles as a tool of control all the time.)

The idea that you don't have to be constrained by gender, but could instead be freed by it, scares the shit out of a lot of people. So they get real, real scared of anything that shows them that gender is just another performance. You make up your own rules, and that scares them.

I think one of the most difficult parts about being ace is that your perception of attraction is so intrinsically different from allo attraction that it makes it difficult to understand your feelings. Like, how do I know I’m romantically attracted to this person if I don’t want to have sex with them? Is it queer platonic or is it genuine romantic attraction? And it’s not like an allo can ever answer that, so you feel isolated and confused. Idk just a thought
