âWhy, thank you,â Clyde smoothed down the sides of her simple dress and tipped her head towards the woman. âYouâre looking very well yourself.â Then she sheepishly smiled and admitted, âI think I mightâve made myself sound cooler than I actually am. The car only touched my bikeâs front wheel- I was still thrown over, but itâs a little less impressive when I tell the full story.â
âYouâre very welcome, my dear. Itâd be a total lie to say otherwise,â Alaina smiled at the girl and looked down over her own choice of attire. It was a simple little dress. Nothing too fancy, but not too casual either. âThanks, Iâm glad someone likes it. I havenât been to one of these things in probably ten years -- it was quite the task trying to figure out what was appropriate,â the redhead laughed, shaking her head as the blonde continued on with her story. âI still think itâs pretty amazing that you didnât end up more hurt. Youâre fucking awesome, donât sell yourself short.â
xaviierr:
he takes another sip of his scotch as he watches her approach, shaking his head lightly. he really did intend to try be social tonight, but he often needed to slip away and have a moment alone in heavily social situations. âiâm not monitoring, just suggestingâ he offers with a soft smile to the woman. âyeah probably not, enough people have said i shouldnât be but i needed a recharge after so much constant chatter.â
âDonât worry, thereâs not much alcohol in this thing, anyway. Iâve learned to control myself in my old age,â the woman joked, knowing full well how crazy sheâd been known to be in her early twenties. Luckily, the partying had calmed way down. She wasnât one for getting drunk as much as she was just being able to have a good time, these days. âAh, more of an introvert, are you? Gotâcha. Totally understandable. Being around a lot of people can be exhausting,â she nodded, taking a sip from her glass. Alaina took the seat next to him and propped her face up with her hand. âWhat are you reading thatâs got you so interested, Mister Fancy Pants?â she continued to tease him a bit.Â
mcxxie:
squinting at the red-headed woman in front of him, the astrophysicist student slowly realized he had been mistaking her for someone else. despite that, he didnât want to make things more awkward than it already was and therefore defeatedly held his hands in the air.  â âm not drunk !! iâd had like â- five drinks !! â with that, he spread all of his ten fingers in front of him, almost staggering back as he felt the tapping on his helmet. â iâm not a fish !! and football ?? are you kidding me ?? iâm boba fett !! like the, best, most amazing bounty hunter ever. also, in my defense, i thought it was an actual masquerade. you know, when you dress up. not some fancy ass mask stuff !! i feel betrayed.  â
âOh really?â the woman laughed as he held up ten fingers. âThatâs not exactly five, hon,â she reached up and pulled one of his hands down. âThere you go. Maybe five should be the limit, tonight. That, or you better be ready to stock up on a shit ton of coffee and greasy foods,â Alaina advised, remembering all too well just how brutal hangovers could be the next morning. âAhh, a Star Wars reference.. gotâcha. Got it. Nice. I totally see that, now,â the redhead nodded her head, looking over the helmet once more. âDude, you shouldâve called someone to help you out! But thereâs nothing wrong with being the original one at the party -- people are definitely gonna remember you.â
clydewalcer:
Clyde stumbled a bit, but managed to steady herself enough to keep from tipping over. Her eyes landed on the hand on her arm, and she followed it up to the woman looking at her. It took her a moment to process the womanâs words, but as soon as she did, Clyde grinned. âIâm quite alright,â she assured. âI was once clipped by a car and I walked away with only two scrapes, so itâll take more than just you to knock me down.âÂ
âWell, damn girl. I guess itâd be like me trying to knock over the Hulk or something. Not that you look anything like him -- youâre stunning. Incredibly gorgeous. Iâm impressed, though. Only two scrapes? You must have some kind of super powers,â the older woman laughed, shaking her head. Of course, she was just messing with the girl, but how cool would it have been if a person could actually have super powers.Â
xaviierr:
heâd danced, and been social but now it seemed that half of the people in attendance had broke off into their social circles, his brother seemed to have disappeared and he just needed a minute alone now. heâd found himself sat at the bar with a book open. most people wouldnât have bothered to bring a book along at all, most people would at least attempt to socialise the way heâd been beginning other people to do. NO, instead he sat at the bar, reading glasses on as he sipped at his scotch, only glancing up as he noticed someone approaching the bar. he was trained to be aware of his surroundings and heâd always found it hard to completely relax, even in supposedly safe environments. âshould you really be having another drink?â he questions the person playfully, one hand placed over the page to keep him from losing it. .Â
It had been a rather uneventful night for the redhead. As much as she wanted to just jump out on the dance floor with everyone, it seemed highly inappropriate considering half of them were drunk and there was no telling what kind of situation that would lead to. The last thing she wanted to be known as was some kind of teacher that tried to seduce her students or something -- and as much as she wanted to think the masks did some kind of job at hiding her identity, the firetruck red hair she had always gave away exactly who she was. The woman approached the bar, flagging down the bartender to serve her something very light when she heard a voice speak out from beside her. âShould you really be monitoring my alcohol consumption?â she quipped back with a playful smirk. Eyeing his hand that was holding a page down in a book, Alaina chuckled. âYouâre reading in the middle of a party? Are the music and dancing boring you?â she teased the man.Â
dakota-adams:
Dakota stood around, swaying gently to the music that was playing. They felt awkwardâ how they often did in social situations. Although they were trying to make the best of it. They look around to the person near them, and pressed their lips together for a moment to think. âIs there any food here? Tell me there is,â The brunette said with a hopeful voice.
Alaina looked over as she heard a voice speak up over the music. âI canât imagine theyâd throw a party without serving some kind of food. Whether itâs something you like is the real question, here,â she chuckled and shrugged her shoulders. âIt looks like thereâs food being served by the bar,â the woman gestured across the room to a few people seated, munching on something.Â
The music was blasting so loud that the redhead could nearly feel the bass hitting in her chest, which was an odd feeling to her because it was how she usually measured how good a rock concert was. This wasnât a rock concert by any means, just a college party full of students in their twenties whose sole purpose seemed to be getting drunk. At least thatâs what it looked like from the outside. Alaina was trying to make her way out of the crowd sheâd somehow found herself in when she bumped a little too hard against someone standing nearer to the back of the mass of people. Once she was free from the group, she turned around to face whoever it was sheâd just nearly knocked over. âShit.. Iâm sorry. I didnât realize my little weight could make such an impact.. you alright?â the woman asked, placing a hand on their arm.Â
finley-monroe:
âWant to help me find someone to hook up with? I donât usually try to hook up with people, jusâ let it happen but whatâs the fun of these things if you donât hook up with someone in a cupboard or the toilets.âÂ
âThatâs certainly an interesting way to go about the night..âÂ
kasey-tyler:
Kasey looked down at her dress, comparing herself to everyone else in the ballroom. âI donât know, I think itâs too much.â She toyed with her hair in its curls and looked at some people who came in semi-formal attire, others who came in jeans.
âAre you kidding? Youâre beautiful. You look like a damn goddess. Go and show those boys - or girls, whatever you go for - what you got to offer.â
stcrliing:
ânew drinking game-â he opens to the closest person to him at the bar, gently sliding one of the four shots in front of them âa shot of tequila every time you cringe at this stupid event. - im catching up, because iâve cringed a lotâ he continues before he begins to throw his first shot back, nose crinkling as tequila burns itâs way down his throat.
âWhat, you donât like getting to dance with everyone else around here? Shame,â the woman chuckled, shaking her head as she grabbed the shot that was slid over to her. âIâll take a shot if you say youâll loosen up and at least try to have some fun.â
mcxxie:
â you â you !! listen, listen to this, â maxxie exclaimed, making his way between the people before resting his hands on the other ( who he thought he recognized. ) clearing his voice, he had to physically keep himself from laughing before inhaling and about to utter the joke that had been building up inside of him. â no, shit !! i lost it !! i had it on my tongue !! it was right there â geez, help me obi-juan whoever the fuck you are. â he continued, straightening his helmet on his head. â i had the best pick-up line, like ever, but suppose this works too. hello my name is number can i get your maxxie ?? â
Alaina was making her way through quite the crowd of people, barely able to make out voices over the blaring music, much less what any of them were saying. So when a pair of hands suddenly found her body, there was no hesitation in her spinning around and grabbing the male by the wrists. âWhoa.. hey,â she spoke, easing his hands off of her. âDude, how drunk are you? You had to have had more than a few too many.. especially to be asking me for my number. And what the hell is this?â the older woman questioned, tapping on the helmet. âAre we at a football game, right now?â
flynnkkotak:
Clad in his Saint Laurent blazer and other name brand pieces, Flynn was the very picture of fabricated wealth. He was currently seated at the open bar, sipping whiskey neat as he surveyed the area for a familiar face or just someone who looked interesting. Unfortunately, the maleâd focused too much attention to passersby and let his drink tilt an inch too far, creating a noticeable wet spot on his pants. âFuck,â he cursed, setting his drink on the bar and frowning at the area. Noticing someone within ear shot as he glanced up, Flynn called out to them. âHey, think you could help me out? Hand me a napkin or like, lick up the whiskey on my lap.â A childish grin made its way onto his features. âYour choice.â
Alaina wasnât there to be in on the action -- no matter how loud the dance floor seemed to be calling her name. As a teacher, her sole purpose was to make sure the students werenât getting into too much trouble.. although, at a college dance, it was impossible to keep them from doing what everyone knew they were going to. The redhead was leaned up against the bar when she heard what sounded like someone shouting at her from a few seats down. Furrowing her brows, the shorter woman grabbed a napkin and walked it over to him. âPretty brave come on. Too bad Iâm way out of your league.â
