some concept sketches of voidwyrm drifter. from my au. *drops on the floor and runs away*

couple more. settling on how i want the head shape to be is giving trouble.

some anatomy things of note:

- the ribs/claws lining the underbelly move and open, similar to centipede legs. they act to protect their insides, namely their "core"/heart, but open when using abilities

- on that note, they possess a very simple internal structure, being mostly a "voidstuff" skeleton. (think xaku) this is the same in both forms.

- provided the heart/core remains intact, they are able to reform from almost anything, given enough time. healing speed increases exponentially when exposed to/inside of the void.

- while being the most powerful of their forms, it is also when they are at their most vulnerable, as they are unable to use transference for safety, should they sustain large amounts of damage.

I have a sketch of drifter as themselves, but the design has gone through a few changes in my head since drawing it. but it can give some idea.

some fun facts:

- the most repeated deaths in duviri left scars. most notably are the neck, throat, chest and back, to name a few. (decapitation, throat cutting, stabbing)

- their left arm is fully mutated by the void. this mutation began as soon as they shook you-know-who's hand. despite starting with only the hand, with each death, more of their human body was lost, being brought back "simpler" each time with less parts, removing what the void didn't seem to think were necessary. they lack almost all internal organs, with only the "heart" in their chest and a simplified digestive tract.

- the claws on the end of their mutated arm are part of their voidstuff skeleton and deal void damage/inflict void radiation.

- his insides and "blood" are cyan in color (and glow. this is most noticable when blushing. blood that leaves the body ceases to glow.

- his tail is always visible. (they are very self conscious about it. mostly because it completely destroys any attempt at hiding their feelings.)

- they are fully fluent in voidtongue.

- 🏳️‍⚧️. as it turns out, conceptual embodiment doesn't just apply to the void around you. it also takes into account the way /you/ see /yourself/. so basically... effects of top surgery without actually needing to undergo surgery. very cool.
