This little animation took me 3 months to complete. And yes, I am fully aware that this trend was popular on TikTok a couple of months ago. I'm late, I know

But the thing is, I started working on it back in the spring, and then life got really busy. I had to put my work on hold for 3 months due to my university studies and personal commitments. I've only recently returned to my work and have finally completed it.

The trend may have passed, but I still love this art. It's simple, sad, and means a lot to me. So I'm posting it anyway, with no regrets.

One of my favorite scenes from the series, Elain gifting Feyre the cake based on the dresser drawers. There's so much to this scene, and this piece, that I adore. The sisterly bonding, Elain trying her best to make up for everything to Feyre, Feyre getting a proper birthday celebration from a family member, the expressions on Elain and Feyres faces, the details and framing of the cake, it's just so perfect.

If you repost, please ask maedoetis on insta first and TAG AND CREDIT HER! She put a lot of time and effort into this piece and it's absolutely gorgeous and she deserves recognition for it if it is shared. She's my friend first and foremost and I will not be okay with people trying to steal even a crumb of credit from her.

We’re so excited to hopefully see some more spy work in action in the future books, and see more of these two! Hopefully we’ll see them teaching some spying to Elain, or going on missions together 👀

tbh i have a lot of ideas and i'd love to create content but i just cant bring myself to make anything abt elain or acotar anymore bc this whole situation has exhausted me and left a bitter taste in my mouth.

i hate the way sjm and the publisher treat fans like we're nothing more than cash cows. we get endless merch drops (once again just another way to squeeze money out of us) and absolutely NOTHING abt the next book even though we've been left in the dark for five years.

honestly its exhausting and RIDICULOUS. after supporting these books for years we deserved some respect. part of me wishes fans would come together and pressure them to stop this nonsense bc it feels manipulative and excessive. we all know you cant please everyone but this situation should have been addressed and contained a long time ago. but of course being transparent with your audience doesnt make money.

i have to admit that all of this has made me lose a lot of the affection i used to have for the series bc this was supposed to be entertainment not a headache.

I’m sorry but if Azriel had fallen in love with his mate (aka Gwyn, of courseeeee) in his BC as antis claim, he wouldn’t have been angry days after, while he was training Nesta. If he hadn’t stopped thinking about her (and her sing??her smile?? This is just ridiculous) for even a moment …he wouldn’t have thrown fucking rocks at Rhys. It doesn’t make any sense.

Also in what world would sjm write:

mor =>elain=>redhead???(in what? A day?)

The truth is, he doesn’t care about her. That’s it. It’s been 5 years please for the love of god!!

One of my favorite recurring moments in the ACOTAR series is how tuned Feyre is into Elain and Azriel. Whether it’s painting a scene of them in her mind or recognizing how well they complement each other, she continously wonders about them, and I can't help but do the same.  

In Silver Flames we have Nesta catching onto how Azriel is feeling towards Elain. Yet another sister connects the two...perhaps leading us to do the same.

It all begs the question that fascinates me most: Do we follow an arguably unwelcome expectant fate, or do we dare defy it?

Broke: Azriel feels entitled to Elain and his feelings for her are superficial. He never made plans outside of his fantasies and only wants her because she’s an Archeron sister.

Woke: Azriel has issues with self worth and doesn’t believe he deserves to be with Elain. Despite this he still cares deeply for her and is tormented by her mating bond. This is why all he has done so far is fantasize about what could be. To him there’s no point in planning ahead, if he 1) will never be worthy (in his eyes) and 2) can never be with her because of the mating bond. When he questions why the third sister (Elain) was given to another, it’s him acknowledging that he has deep feelings for Elain and questioning why the Cauldron/Mother paired her with someone else. His feelings are in no way superficial and to conclude all he feels for her is lust you have to disregard multiple books of buildup/romantically coded scenes that suggest otherwise.
