here’s my second time trying to figure out the plot and climax of the anime series that i am currently watching based on its first few episodes.

i have previously done - nana (2006)

currently i am watching orange (2016) and these are some of the plot lines in my mind

observations so far —

i am already attached to the characters esp kakeru (i have a thing for black messy haired guy protags) and i have a feeling its gonna hurt lol

the story is moving really fast and i really really hope naho and kakeru end up together but at the same time i cannot help but worry that naho’s future with suwa will get erased? the baby is so cuteeee

kakeru’s mother committing su1c1de might lay the foundation of kakeru’s decision later in the anime i feel. i mean why would she want her son to not join any school clubs? sus.

that's all so far, i'll edit the post if i have more in mind.

so, i have decided to start a new series of posts where i will try to figure out the plot and climax of the anime series that i am currently watching based on its first few episodes.

currently i am watching nana (2006) and these are some of the plot lines in my mind

assumptions—

based on the art style, the show feels v ominous (loving the lighthearted scenes as well but i feel like in the long term sth really disturbing is gonna happen)

some character is prolly gonna die (i strongly feel it might be punk rock nana lol)

shoji mighhhhtttt cheat on hachi nana

feels like a sexual awakening is around the corner for both the protagonists

that’s all so far, i’ll edit the post if i have more in mind.

i finished watching the anime and what the heck was the ending? why was nobu such a coward? although i understand that he was fearing rejection and wanted to detach from hachi.

i have started reading the manga and got some spoilers about who is going to die and i felt numb for a moment.

also let's cross check my assumptions -

1. nothing really dark happened in the anime but it will, in the manga

2. punk nana doesn't die but someone else does (WHYYYYYYYYYY TF??? it'd have been better if takumi died)

3. shoji truly did turn out to be a pig. hate hate hate his guts

4. i wish nana and hachi were end game. why did the author put so much tension between them only for the ending to be so anti-climactic

anyways,

if i had to group it in a genre, i'd put nana into tragedy and not frigging shoujo.
