Okayyyy making dividers is my new obsession...so here's one's for @tamlinweek 🫣 Celtic vibes, Spring, some are a little dark and moody and some are rustic. Hell yeah.
Credit is appreciated but not required!
Tamlin is a good male indepth list:
Protected Lucien.
Tamlin saved Lucien from being executed by his father, the High Lord of the Autumn Court, after Lucien refused to marry a noblewoman chosen for him. Tamlin then killed one of Lucien's brothers to get Lucien out and took him in as a friend and emissary, despite the risk. Provided care for him post-losing his eye.
Took in Alis and Her Nephews:
Tamlin allowed her to stay in his court as a servant and protector of the household and treated her with respect. Trusted her enough to share details of the blight and of his history with Amarantha.
Financially Supported Feyre’s Family and Healed Papa Archeron's Leg:
After taking Feyre to the Spring Court, Tamlin secretly made sure her family was taken care of. He sent them gold and provisions, ensuring they lived in comfort after years of hardship. All without fanfare or credit.
Tried to Woo Feyre Gently:
Tamlin didn’t pressure Feyre aggressively. He gave her space and tried to earn her trust with small kindnesses, like sending her paints and giving her freedom around the court. Playing the Fiddle for her. Writing Limmericks for her to help her learn how to read, after offering to help her more directly, but she refused. Showing her around the court (the rose garden, the starpool, the art gallery).
Told her: “Don’t feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”
Helped the Dying Faerie Who Lost His Wings:
Tamlin does everything he can to ease the faerie’s pain. He tries to use his magic to heal him, even though the injuries are too severe. He stays by the faerie's side, comforts him, and ultimately gives him a peaceful death.
Allowed Feyre to Leave:
Even knowing the curse might never be broken, Tamlin let Feyre go back to her family. He truly believed he was protecting her from Amarantha’s wrath.
Refused to Betray Feyre Under the Mountain & Engaged in The only consensual scene at all UTM.
Was the first High Lord to give a drop of his power to bring her back to life.
Without that act of selflessness, Feyre wouldn't have been resurrected as High Fae.
Promised to break her unwanted bargain:
And loses everything for it. To me this was a selfless, brave, and caring gesture. He saw how distressed she was over the bargain, while still UTM, and promised her that he would find a way out of it for her.
I don't want what you have, I want to be you
That's what happened, right? Rhysand became what Tamlin was in ACOTAR. He took everything, even the fans' love (Tamlin, honey, we still love you no matter what)
A list of Tamlin’s magic abilites & their potential
It’s quite a long post so be prepared…let’s start off with the abilities we are 100% sure of.
• Shape-shifting
- So as we know Tamlin can shapeshift, we also know he can shapeshift others (he mainly reserves this for his sentries as stated by Lucien)
- Potential: when Tamlin shapeshift’s he can do so into anyone or anything & if it’s anyone there is a high chance that he can take on that persons power/magic/ability e.g. if he were to shift into Rhysand he could take on Rhysand’s misting, daemati powers & whatever else he has.
(We kind of already know this is a possibility because of Feyre & her pregnancy, we find out that Nyx was conceived when Feyre was in her illyrian form & that he has illyrian wings, now even though in the book I’m sure it said Nyx was only 1/4 Illyrian, it makes no sense for that to be true if Feyre changed her entire body to her illyrian form which would suggest the shapeshifting happens on a cellular/gentic/DNA level & that Nyx is actually 1/4 high fae & 3/4 Illyrian, Nyx’s wings forming in the womb like an illyrian babe is consistent with him only being 1/4 HF because Feyre had shifted fully into an illyrian form & Rhysand being half illyrian)
• Glamours & illusions
- we know that Tamlin can create glamours & illusions because he did with the Archeron family (except Nesta of course) & he even did it against Rhysand & would have fully succeeded in that if he remembered to remove the 3rd plate set at the dinner table
- Potential: Tamlin has the potential to create glamours & illusions on such a huge scale that there really wouldn’t be much of a limit except maybe either his imagination or distance, we know that he glamoured his entire estate so that Feyre could not see the other faeries so what’s to say he couldn’t glamour an entire court?…or maybe even a continent?…
if Tamlin decided to be a villain after his mother was killed who’s to say Tamlin not only created this glamour but also put an illusion over everyone if he went into his villain era? What if he decided Amarantha was just made up so that he could get back at Rhysand? The potential is truly close to limitless, the fact that Tamlin was able to very nearly get one over on Rhysand & he is a daemati & supposedly an incredibly powerful one at that shows how powerful he really is.
• Air/Wind control & manipulation
- So 3 books in & we find out Tamlin has yet another ability when he single-handedly saves Feyre, Elain, Azriel & Briar using his ability to control air…I’m sorry is he the fucking avatar??😩😂
- Potential: at this point he can literally do anything Storm from X-Men can do with her ability to control the air element as well as anything Aang the avatar can do, if Tamlin wanted you to suffocate by simply removing the oxygen from the particles around you he could, tornado?✅ Hurricane?✅ Typhoon?✅ Cyclone?✅ Check✅ Tamlin has the power & potential to do it all. I’m not joking when I say this is an extremely fucking deadly ability to have.
• Healing
- Tamlin can heal himself & others exactly like Thesan can as he tried to do when it came to saving that Faerie who had its wings ripped off by Amarantha but do to Amarantha taking most of his powers he wasn’t able to do much at that time
- Potential: Well I mean he could cure pretty much any disease or bone breakages, whether that be in himself or one others.
• Shielding & Repelling against dark magic
- At the end of ACOTAR (book 1, Chapter 45, Page 405) we see through Feyre’s eyes what she sees just before Tamlin rips out Amarantha’s throat, “Amarantha screeched, kicking at Tamlin, lashing at him with her dark magic, but a wall of gold encompassed his fur like a second skin. She couldn’t touch him.” However I think SJM changes this whether it’s because she forgot she even wrote in this little gem of realised she made Tamlin too powerful & this alone makes Rhysand look weak in comparison I don’t know because in Hybern he’s no longer able to shield himself against that dark magic when Hybern uses a “leash” to subdue him so that he can’t attack the king of Hybern.
- Potential: Now the potential for this ability is insane & realistically Tamlin has the potential to go up against Koschei because we know Koschei uses dark magic of some sort & giving that it would be the perfect battle of light vs dark but it would also mean Rhysand’s magic can’t touch Tamlin so his misting ability could potentially falter on Tamlin
Now moving along to the hidden magic/abilities/powers Tamlin could have
• Elemental magic
- Honestly Tamlin could be Prythians version of Aang & Storm rolled into one, if SJM were brave enough to thoroughly write Tamlin & flush out his character in every aspect Tamlin would literally be Prythians mutant category 5 avatar👀 when Aang first broke free from the ice he only had the element of Air…Tamlin as we know it also at the moment only currently has air, if memory serves me correctly Aang then goes onto learning Earth bending…👀…what if Tamlin already knows he can earth bend…👀…or begins to learn it, he is after all the embodiment of spring!! & if we want to put more of a fantasy twist on it he can control plant’s & wildlife he is essentially an ecokinetic & his ability is ecokenesis.
Description from Superpower wiki: “The user is connected directly to the natural world and thus can communicate, influence, manipulate and control nature: all living beings and plants and natural phenomena, such as the weather and geology of the Earth, and the matter and energy of which all these things are composed. They can survive in any natural environment on earth.
The user can manipulate, tap into, blend and/or become elements of nature, including air, weather, lightning, earth, stone, metal, water, ice, light, darkness, clouds/mist, magma, fire etc. They can control animals and plants and mimic their abilities and forms.”
Now there’s been no indication to my knowledge that Tamlin can influence or control water but again if he has elemental magic that is a given & lastly FIRE!! If Tamlin is a descendant of Aelin & Aelin is know as fire-bringer descendant of Mala…YOU GUYS!!!…what if Tamlin has the colbalt blue fire!!! What if like Aelin, like Aang he has to descend into his power!!!…👀ive already said many times before Tamlin is a starborn fae like Bryce & Aelin so there is a potential for him to!!
• Daemati
- I want to thank @theegemini92 for reminding me of this one because I genuinely forgot about it until I saw her post today. So as it goes when Tamlin supposedly uses his glamouring ability to make the Archeron family believe Feyre is staying with an aunt it doesn’t strike anyone that his “glamouring” acted a lot like daemati mind manipulation??…👀
Now yes we know the ability to glamour is a trick of the mind to make you see something that isn’t really there but seeing something & thoroughly believing something that doesn’t exist are two vastly different things, the extent to which Elain & Papa Archeron truly believed that Feyre was living with a distant aunt over Nesta being fooled is crazy, both abilities revolve around the mind & we know Nesta has a “steeled will & mind” and Rhysand struggled greatly to enter Nesta’s mind using his daemati abilities…👀
The fact the only time Rhysand is ever actually able to access Tamlin’s mind is at the HL’s meeting strikes me as convenient more for Tamlin…almost as if Tamlin let it happen because he needed others to see that Rhysand would use his abilities against them if he wanted to…👀
• Resurrection & Reincarnation
- This one would tap more into the Spring Court magic lore side & the God of Spring, so again as we all know the definition of season of spring is life after death, rebirth, resurrection, rejuvenation, renewal, regrowth & new beginnings/blessings so on & so on.
Well you know how The Spring Court celebrate Calanmai what if on Calanmai when the magic is most potent it wasn’t just used as a night to increase fertility & create the next heirs but also a night where you could resurrect or reincarnate someone, not only would you rejuvenate the land but you’d also create life after death & resurrect a loved one maybe & it would technically all still fall under the category of Spring magic & maybe a bit of blood magic or something other magic but it’s still spring magic at its core performed by The High Lord of The Spring Court aka Tamlin.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments below🩷
Also let me know if you want me to do this for any other acotar characters
For my tamlin girlies! He was fun to draw and paint. I hope you guys like him!
Sooooo guess who waited last minute again despite attempting to do this for months?

Metamorphosis
A short sketch of the scene in chapter 80 of ACOWAR where Feyre gives her speech, told from Tamlin’s POV:
He felt heat up and down his skin, flooding his face. He sat still, apart from the others. And earned a momentary glance from Feyre before she continued on, a sea of black leather at her side. Lucien wrapped up in it, too. The transformation had happened. In the chrysalis of his house, the petals had finally fallen, the fruits grown ripe, it was close to harvest now. What was sown would be reaped. He understood this. Poisonous flowers, carnivorous flowers, luring one in, and then stuck inside, devoured within.
He hadn’t bothered trying to heal himself. Lucien could have done it. But he wanted the scars, the bandages, the blood. The final thing he had been able to do, with what he was. He could imagine himself human, rest, and poultices reapplied, and seeing the wound, and how reassuring it was to see it, the proof of it. And how it healed, slowly. That was reassuring too, the time it took. Healing took time, wounds sometimes never healed at all.
This house had been hers, he had bought it for her. He wondered why she had chosen it, wrecked and ruined as it was.
He supposed that was the reason.
She looked now with love, and joy, at her mate, who looked back on her with pride, and the same. And a certain smugness he knew he was not imagining. All of them.
Everything he touched turned to this. Blossoms opened but briefly, and quickly withered, or blew on the breeze. Spring was ephemeral, really. It was never meant to last.
She beamed. She was beaming. The sadness in her voice, the discomfort scattered on the wind as she spoke of seeing Velaris for the first time. He wondered if he had ever seen it, when he was young, before everything started. And if Rhysand had erased it from his mind. He would never go there now. It was pointless.
The speeches went on for hours. One after the other, telling their stories, human and fae and half-fae. So many he had never seen, would never know. Animated, and ecstatic, and sorrowful, and angry, all of it, everything he loved—and he remembered, when she looked at him like that. Wildly and deeply and all at once. Such joy in her, she had not tried to hide it when it came. There had been no deceit in her then.
But in him, yes.
He could still feel the mask, he figured he always would. The shadow of it, how it covered him. His face unchanged, unmoving, beneath. He knew how to be still. He was very still, now. The tension before had been too much, he had held himself in for too long, and he had forgotten, he had forgotten himself. All of his selves had exploded out, the manor, the entire world exploded around him, wrecked, and ruined, like this. A final remnant of what had been, before. But he remembered, and he was still now. Very still.
Talk now of the wall. He crossed his arms when they looked to him, it was his court, his land, after all. What did it matter, if there was a wall, or not. He would be the wall. He would keep everyone out, by himself. He had already been doing such a good job of driving people away.
An echo, through his empty head, of Lucien’s laughter through the halls, purifying them, and oh, how much life he had brought to it. How much Feyre had. Never from him. Never from himself. He took it from them, saw the joy leach out over weeks, over centuries, until he had used them up, and only the rotted heart was left. This husk, this shell of a person. Sloughed off, and discarded. Adorned in stars, in moonlight.
Their wings on the wall. In his haste, his father hadn’t even bothered to clean them. And the smell of them, when they burned.
So be it.
He would burn himself. Everything he had ever been, and tried to be. One layer after another off of him.
The long speeches were over. Everyone stood up, mingled, talked, shook hands. It should have been a triumphant moment. It was. For her, for everyone. The first bit of progress, after 500 years of stasis. It was not a part of him though, it was far from him, he had long since shed that self. And all he could see, as the remaining six High Lords spoke, and shook hands, were talons, and claws, and wings, mouths extended into canine jaws, he could feel the tickling underneath. Masks and leather and smooth skin to cover it up. All manner of dressing.
This was who the humans were shaking hands with, were trusting. Cat’s eyes and fox’s tongue and serpent’s tail. The truth of it on the battlefield. Beasts, all of them.
He would transform, become snake and caterpillar and bird. Cocoon, and molt, and shed. Everything that he had built up over 500 years. Layer after layer.
Friend. Soldier. Son. Brother. Lover. Fae. High lord.
All of them, all the way back, to what his becoming High Lord had revealed.
He remained standing a moment more, then turned, and, without a word, lost amidst the crowd, disappeared into the night. And felt them leaving him. What a weight lifted. To stop pretending. To be anything else but a beast.
For @tamlinweek2023 Day 1: Beasts
Someone tosses Tamlin a dagger during the ACOTAR Under the Mountain fight scene and he was in his beast form right before that, so this is what I imagined. I laugh at it so often that this will probably not be the last time it gets drawn. Here he is! Hail the Spring Court!
Tamlin Week 2023, Day 1: Beast
@tamlinweek2023
“You didn’t have a mask as a beast…”
“The blight is cruel that way.”
Either live as a beast, or live with the mask.
~ A Court of Thorns and Roses, ch. 7
This is kind of a mix of Day 1: Beast and Day 2: Masks, but this is the image that entered my brain when considering the prompts, so here you go. :3

High Lord of Spring
It's @tamlinweek2023 !
“Will I look like that one day, Father?”
“Your beast will be different from mine, as mine was different from my father’s. And his was different from his father’s, and so on.”
Spring, Again
ahhh I almost forgot to post my tamlin week fic. I've been moving, taking on more responsibilities at work, and generally just been losing my mind (the usual).
When Tamlin looks at his reflection in the water, he no longer sees himself.

I know the narrative in acotar praises Rhysand for being "the first to allow females positions of power and include Illyrians in his Inner Circle" but like... that's not it, is it? He didn't include Illyrians or women, he gave positions of power to his best friends/family who just happened to be women and Illyrians. And that is something completely different.
Because giving positions to women and Illyrians implies equality. In that case, it would mean women having the same chances to get a position as men and Illyrians being given seats in the government that they can fill with their chosen representatives. That is not what Rhys does, though. Feyre gets a position because she's his mate. I guess Mor probably has some qualifications, but I'm not sure if Rhys gave her the position because of those, or because she's his cousin (given that he gave all his friends positions, my money's on the latter). Cassian and Azriel get positions because he considers them brothers. They may have qualifications, but they are not chosen as representatives by the Illyrians. Cassian may be a great General, but the Illyrians don't want him as their leader. Rhys doesn't care and appoints him anyways. And apart from the Inner Circle, other female leaders or Illyrians in positions of actual power (that would, for example, give them a say in how the war is fought) are notably absent. Hell, he doesn't even have any advisors outside of his friendship group!
So honestly, the Inner Circle isn't revolutionary in the way it is made up at all. It is just a High Lord playing favourites and giving all the high ranking government positions in his court to his friends.
My biggest problem when discussing N/esta and T/amlin with people who vehemently hate them is the fact that they do recognize the problems in their actions and behaviors. Most “stans” aren’t blind to their flaws, and what makes them flaws. They understand that it’s wrong to antagonize someone unprovoked, but they only understand that aspect with N/esta. They understand that T/amlin’s intention doesn’t and will never justify his abuse, but they do not understand that aspect with R/hysand. They understand that apologies don’t erase abuse, but do not understand that when it comes to R/hysand’s behavior UTM (which he didn’t even apologize for).
It’s tiring, because usually I am arguing against a narrative that isn’t consistent with it’s discussion of abuse. T/amlin (in CANON, not the fanon T/amlin that the stans have made up) abused F/eyre because...he wanted to protect her. R/hysand sexually assaulted F/eyre because he wanted to....protect F/eyre. R/hysand + F/eyre locked up and abused N/esta because they wanted to....protect N/esta from herself. In CANON all of these characters do the same thing, with the same justification. N/esta was locked into a house, with no way to leave. The reason she was locked in that house was because F/eyre knew she could not escape. Naturally, N/esta has the potential to walk down the steps, but she can’t which is why they locked her up there. T/amlin put a shield around the house knowing F/eyre has powers. Of course, she has the capacity to break the shield, but she can’t which is the reason he feels comfortable putting the shield up in the first place. It’s the SAME thing, and the fact that you guys have the capacity to see it in one scenario and not the other means that you are selectively apply the validity of trauma and it’s consequences.
You guys are just as analytical as antis, you have the capacity to see when SJM’s ideology doesn’t line up, but the only people this criticism applies to are N/esta, T/amlin, and sometimes E/lain and L/ucien. It’s the fact that people aren’t willing to criticize R/hys to the level they do T/amlin even when their justifications are the same. It’s that people aren’t willing to see the narrative flaws except when to describe N/esta. It’s the way you guys understand a retcon when N/esta is concerned, but not where T/amlin and R/hys are. You guys can see when N/esta’s narrative is shifted to appease her, but you can’t understand just how much the narrative changed to fit R/hysand’s abuse. You are critical readers, you are just selective on what parts you seek to criticize.
The part about canon, when I made the same point all anyone could say is Tamlin didn't care about protecting Feyre, when that was literally what his paranoia was all about
That’s why I “hate the fanon T/amlin” because the repercussions always makes a distinctive line between R/hysand and Tamlin where there isn’t one. And this is also a problem because honestly I absolutely understood T/amlin’s frustration where R/hysand is concerned. T/amlin was paranoid, he had very clear signs of PTSD, and he’s trying to escape what A/marantha did to them all. He’s becoming more and more violent and aggressive — he’s behaving like a wounded animal.
And imagine, in the depths of your paranoia, the man literally directly responsible for it is everywhere. The man who sat there and abused your fiancée in front of you, who snitched on her to A/marantha, who publicly humiliated her, debased her, assaulted her physically, mentally, and sexually. The guy who did all of this mainly because of his rivalry against you. T/amlin is trying to get away from the memory of a woman whose been literally after him for hundreds of years, and then every month, a remnant of her comes to fuck with him. All he’s thinking about is what R/hys did to her, how he forced him to watch that. That’s sick asf. And if F/eyre behaved even a fraction like a human being, she wouldn’t be snarky with R/hys, she’d be triggered by the constant sexual innuendos he throws at her — when he literally mind-r*ped her and assaulted her. Because most of F/eyre’s trauma is directly of R/hys’s creation. A/marantha didn’t give a rat’s ass about F/eyre, she didn’t think she could solve an easy riddle, and gave her multiple ways to break the curse because she thought that low of humans. She didn’t notice, or constantly terrorize F/eyre — she just used her as entertainment like she’s done for many others throughout the fifty years. But R/HYS inserts F/eyre into all of these situations which he conveniently has to come save her from. And T/amlin has to witness this, over and over.
And T/amlin cares for F/eyre, to the point where he sends her away to protect her. He literally risked the entirety of P/rythian just so she wouldn’t have to go through what she did, and in the end, R/hysand still ends up doing everything he did initially and more. It does not excuse the abuse T/amlin caused — for F/eyre, for L/ucien, and for his court — and it never will. But we cannot make up things that aren’t canon just to make R/hys look better. Everyone considered R/hys a monster because he WAS and he did monstrous things. T/amlin cared too much, could only see R/hys as the threat, and not himself. He’s had too drastic of an environment change to reconcile anything other than protect, protect, protect.
When people try to make T/amlin a misogynistic, brutish man, it undermines the actually conversations we should be having about his abuse. It stemmed from a need to protect —just as R/hysand’s did, and there’s no distinction about it.
YES. Tamlin's abuse was born from his desire to protect Feyre and a bunch of retcons. He did love her, did want to protect her, but that doesn't make him any less abusive. The problem is that Rhysand's abuse also stems from, or at least is explained away as, him wanting to protect Feyre. Rhysand having "good reasons" is why the fandom thinks his behavior is ok. But if we acknowledge that Tamlin abuses Feyre for the same reason, then we have a problem. Because they both act the same way for the same reason, then we only have two options to understand their behavior: either neither Tamlin or Rhysand are abusive, or both Tamlin and Rhysand are abusive. Hence the conundrum. Fandom cannot acknowledge that Tamlin and Rhysand acted the same way, because then they'd be force to realize that Rhysand is also abusive.
i just don’t get it…

Drawing extremely minor acotar characters is something that can actually be so personal so, here is Briar from acowar. I really hope she shows up again and maybe gets involved with Tamlin's healing arc.
