Tonight, my friends and I got dressed up and headed to a special New Year's Eve dinner at Naka. It was 5 beautiful courses and I couldn't think of a better way to ring in the new year. The Wagyu with truffles was particularly amazing. I decided it ruined regular steak forever, I've never experienced food like that before. Incredible. Thankful. The top right is tuna with quail eggs. Top left is squid with uni and caviar. Bottom left is clam, king crab and black cod. Bottom right is wagyu beef with black truffles. We also had rice porridge with clams and a beautiful dessert that I can't adequately describe. #happynewyear #2017 #dinner #nakaseattle #delicious

Romanian goodies from Georgiana and Codrin! I cried when I opened it. I collect books I like from other countries, it's my favorite souvenir. When I was in Romania many years ago, I could not find a Harry Potter and I told them about it, and Georgiana delivered! I'm so thankful! Set up a challenge for myself. I've been working on drawing from life again after many years out of the game. The organic shape of my wedding bouquet has lots of flowing ridges that are hard to represent, but I'm doing my best. I think I need to get a wall hanging that says, "Patience is a virtue." It's my biggest struggle with art after getting back into it after a few years. I see some progress and I hope to surpass my former skill someday, it I need to be patient. Meanwhile I'll keep practicing while watching The Office. Steamy oolong on a cool day, very comforting. I busted my teapot this morning rinsing it in my sink, so it was a good excuse to stop by my local tea store for the first time. It was great! I got a new, better, teapot and picked up a new Mountain Orchid oolong which is turning out to be one of the best teas I've ever had.
