This is a lower ABV riff of Alba Huerta’s “Cherry Bounce Sour” : 1 1/4 oz - Bourbon 100 Proof 1 oz - Cherry Shrub 1/2 oz - simple syrup 1/4 oz - lemon juice 1 oz - aquafaba 1 dash - Angostura bitters -Dry shake Cherry shrub, Angostura, lemon juice, simple syrup and aquafaba til frothy. Add Bourbon and ice, shake til cold. Just picked up some fresh blackberries, so....a riff off of a blackberry smash it is! • • 1.5oz - Bourbon 1oz - Red wine 1/2oz - lime juice 1oz - blackberry shrub (see my easy-hack below) 1/4oz simple Blackberry garnish (optional) -shake all ingredients with ice until cold, strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a blackberry. • Shrub hack: 5 blackberries, 3/4oz simple, 1/4oz apple cider. Muddle all ingredients until integrated. Happy Memorial Day! This is a riff on Whiskey Sour using all-American ingredients! • • 1 1/2oz - Rye Whiskey (Kentucky) 1/2oz - Amaro (Brooklyn) 1/4oz - Maple Syrup (Vermont) 1/2oz - Aquafaba (California) 4 dash - Bitters (Pennsylvania) -Shake Whiskey, Amaro, Syrup, Aquafaba and lemon juice in a shaker til frothy. Add ice and shake well, strain into chilled coupe glass. garnish with 4 dashes of aromatic bitters. Oh damn this one is good! • • This is a take on a cocktail named Plausible Deniability (scotch-based). I didn’t have any scotch so I decided to wash the glass with Mezcal and used Bourbon....also didn’t have Drambuie, so I used Ratafia Liqueur. • • 1.5 oz Bourbon 3/4oz Ratafia Liquer 1/2oz Campari Bitter 1/2oz lime juice Splash of Mezcal for the glass rinse -add everything but the Mezcal into a shaker, add ice and shake til cold. Strain into a Mezcal-rinsed coupe glass.
