Men categorize women in one of four ways: Mothers, virgins, sluts and bitches. Of course none of the above is suitable for the modern business woman. But you can create your own image by selecting pieces of each archetype that work for you. The sexual attractiveness of the slut. The wisdom of the mother. The integrity of the virgin. The independence of the bitch. This leaves men confused and unable to pigeonhole you. What they are forced to do instead is take you seriously.
“are you like a vegetarian or some dumb shit like that ?? why would you ever pick tofu ??”
“no, i doubt i could ever survive. -- tofu isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. next time i make stir fry, i’m bringing some over and you will join the dark side after trying it.”
“don’t forget the kebabs too, nothing like a good greasy kebab at midnight. I can’t imagine vegetable stir fry is nice ?? like, where it the meat in it ??
“that sounds awful, but i can’t judge since i finished a tub of mövenpick ice cream last night. -- it’s the magic of tofu, my dear friend.”
“Whoops. Sorry ‘bout that. Happy late birthday? Ah, yeah. I’d say the theatre kids have it out for you.”
“apology accepted and thank you. -- i like to think that as well, but arrogance is no good for the lump of tissue that sits in my skull.”
“A girl with an attitude, I like that. Just take it easy, sweetheart.”
“drop the condescending tone and i just might. anyways, does putting it back from where it came from sound good? because i think i know who the culprit is.”
“well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. some people like weird and scary shit. maybe it was your neighbor who put it there?”
“i think this thing goes far beyond weird and scary. if it was her, then what was her motive? because if it was to give me a good scare, she got what she wanted. i suppose i should just leave this in front of her door tonight.”
“my skill branches out about as far as super noodles and like, nothing else ?? so you’re doing damn good in my eyes honestly”
“a diet that consists of fast food and instant noodles surely can’t be doing you any good, maybe i should teach you how to make that vegetable stir fry...”
“I say burn it,” Percy offers without any sense of hesitation, though he’s quick to pause a moment later, thoughtful expression making its presence known through the pursing of the boy’s lips. “Though I wouldn’t be surprised if they made these fuckers from some terrifying, highly indestructible, and quite possibly illegal, material – just to keep awful, bratty children from busting it against the nearest wall whenever they manage to get bored of the god-forsaken thing.”
“christ,” she mutters, turning it over to where the batteries were stored. nicking it open with her fingers, she picks out the batteries and tosses them in the bin. “i think i’m going to hold on to this, till i find who’s responsible. besides, the batteries are gone so it won’t work, right?” alessia is no stranger to weird internet stories of these things lighting up regardless of the lack of batteries, but they couldn’t be true.
“why the hell do you have that thing around here ?? what’s your reasoning behind keeping one in the first place !?”
“that’s exactly what i need to find out! someone is going around campus and putting furbies in people’s dorms, this calls for a witch hunt.”
If you got stuck in the zombie apocalypse, what role would you partake in?
“well, i’m no use when it comes to first aid or anything related to hospitality, so i’d go for killing the undead. it seems fun enough anyways.”
If you could see someone as they were during a certain time of their life (or while they were living), who would it be and why?
“shakespeare, although sylvia plath is a close second. -- i’d just like to see how he manages to create such amazing work, really. it’s nothing too special.”
fmk: alexander, april and holden
“i don’t really want to kill anyone though – but i’d fuck holden for no reason whatsoever. he just seems like a good fuck. april is an absolute sweetheart so i’d marry her… looks like alexander’s going down the drain then. it’s nothing personal, i swear. sorry, bud.”
“my brother used to prank me with that thing back when we were kids. he’d sneak into my room and place a fucking black furby beside me then i’d wake up to the sound of screeching and scary illuminated eyes. i fucking hate those things and i am convinced it is a spawn of the devil. i suggest you burn it now.”
“jesus fucking christ... yeah, that sounds like a good plan. my neighbour had the audacity to call this monstrosity ‘cute’, that comment almost made my morning better. almost.”
“ does anyone need any tutoring in calculus ??? i really need to brush up on my skills before classes begin again. ”
“took calculus in secondary school, never again. -- sorry, but i’d rather not have memories of classes with mrs mcallister come flooding back again. i could ask around if you’d like.”
“I think i’ve hit this point in my life, where every member of staff in the arndale food court know me by name, that is from subway to taco bell. they all greet me by name and know my order before i even say it. someone really needs to teach me how to cook”
“as much i’d love to help, i can’t cook if my life depended on it. however, i can make some wicked stir fried veggies. -- that’s about as far as my cooking skills go though.”
