resurrected dead wife watching her own montage: wow I looked so hot in that
my long time conspiracy theory is that the huge prevalence of "dead wife" trope is because a lot of writers want their cool male protagonist to be single and/or focused on his goal but don't know how else "justify" him not pursuing women around him sexually or god forbid turn their advances down that is not emasculating in their mind
"My name is John Movie and I'm here in this bar being a guyman" "Hi~ My name is Jessica Lipgloss and I feel inexplicably drawn to your brown stubble and blank expression" "Sorry lady. Despite you being a skinny woman I have to pass" A/N: well you see, dear audience, he says that not because he is a loser virgin who gets no bitches, gay or other type of weirdo who doesn't want to sleep with skinny white women who don't wear any makeup and naturally have eyeliner. He is actually already achieved social status of Acquiring a Woman to Sleep With but she died:'( So he is sad and loyal actually. He breathe through his skin.
happy pride
ID: There's a pawn chess piece and a queen chess piece. The pawn says "Hey I wanted to tell you I'm coming out as a Trans Woman" and the queen says "That's great! as your queen I'll support you no matter what!". The pawn piece turns into a queen piece and says "Man, HRT sure is amazing" and the queen responds "why the fuck do you look like me".
why can rockstar games institutionalise you for life like nikita kruschev for being autistic
He didn't steal 10 million dollars. They made that number up as a loss, they never fucking had it. Rockstar has spent more than a billion fucking dollars on GTA VI and will likely make billions more when it gets released.
Uber is a fucking shell game of a company designed to leech investor capital and output bootleg cabs.
Nvidia posted a profit in 2023 of $4.37 billion. This is like someone stealing less than a penny from me.
And they lock this kid in a prison hospital for LIFE?
Capitalism is disgusting.
Nobody should buy GTA til they free Arion Kurtaj
What with GTA VI going up for pre-order i'd just like to remind everyone that rockstar conspired with the UK government to lock an 18-year-old away for life for hacking them.
remember in star trek beyond when spock gives uhura a necklace that's secretly a tracking device. that is rocky and grace 1,000,000%. grace is like wow thank you for this beautiful bracelet you made me my best friend rocky and rocky's like yes beautiful bracelet put it on now and wear it forever lovely jewel encrusted xenonite bracelet that is definitely not transmitting your vital signs and exact location at all hours to my texture monitor. except he says all that out loud and grace says uh what.

Tutorial on how to install the floating commenting box on AO3
So for those of us who love live-commenting fics, there exists an amazing script tool created by @ravenel and described on this post. Basically the commenting box is floating as you scroll down the text so you can quote/write as you read without incessantly going and returning to/from a text editor.
I made this tutorial on how to install it on either Chrome or Firefox for @missmaxime but then I figured I might as well share it here so anyone else who’s interested could use it.
If you’re using another browser than Chrome or Firefox but know how to add extensions on it, then you can still follow part 2 of this tutorial since Tampermonkey is available for other browsers as well.

I need non-USAmericans to remember that interventionism is not a white USAmerican practice only. It's a cultural mindset integrated in the very creation of the United States of America. And I need non-white USAmerican to also remember it.
No, you're not safe from being an interventionist because you are "0.0001% another ethnicity" and you were raised in a non-white community.
It's in every interaction, campaign and advertising that comes out of the United States and it's a core part of the educational and political systems. From the way they talked and teached about the World Wars and the Middle East, to the way they talk about South America and Asia/Africa nowadays.
It's in the way non-white people raised in USAmerican don't want to learn new languages nor cultures and the demand that other parts of the world bend to their every will outside of basic respect. It's the way USAmericans try to impose USAmerican beliefs in other cultures without interacting with them.
It's in the way they talked about Argentina and when radicalized a people here actually told what actually did happend, they dismissed them and called them traitors. It's the way they talked to about Africa and when from various countries told them to shut up about them, they called them "savages and uncultured". It's the way they talk about East Asia and when east asians just... don't comply, they are told their opinion on about they OWN CULTURE doesn't matter.
It's the way the United States of America intervenes in election times, either be monetary or by public opinion, to the wars in the Middle East and recently, the takeover of Venezuela.
It's the way this practice has managed to disguise itself as a saving grace for poor countries and the solution to problems like xenophobia and racism, at the same time it amplifies them. It's the way it keeps people ignorant and uninterested in the world outside of their world view. It keeps USAmericans in a perpetual victim mentality without wanting to learn.
US interventionism is also a very good distraction from the real issues on US soil. It works in two ways:
Raising the US above others. How can things be bad at home? It is sooo bad everywhere else. And we are the ones helping them. Because we are better. In this way, US citizens do not question their own world state and if it could be improved but instead focus on forcing the world state of others to change "for the better" without a whole lot of thought or regard for if that is what is needed.
Aligning US citizens against the other. There are a lot of ways this plays out but it is ultimately a magic trick. If we all agree that Iran is bad, then we wont be paying attention to the bad things happening on our own soil because a war against Iran is a way bigger talking point. And even to some degree it can be used to explain away things like the burden on the economy, why our defense budget is so stupid high, why we're defunding massive government programs left and right. We gotta help these victims! The other guy is so so bad! Don't you see! We don't need cancer research! We need bombs to fight the other guy!
There is work to be done on our own soil to improve our own economy and our own communities. And it is at our own expense that we blindly believe we have to intervene and we are the "better" country.
And this is all very simplified view by me. And how the US government operates and the pervasiveness of US culture worldwide and our history of intervention into other countries affairs is all very complex. It's not gonna be all negative. And it's not all mustache twirlingly evil motives. But it is very good for every US citizen to question every time the US decides to intervene somewhere. To truly dig into what we are being told and the reasons behind the actions we take as a country. It's even good to look into how these things are being reported by other countries to maybe get rid of the interventionist biases in our own media.
gringos stop making the exploitation of the global south about you for once in your lives challenge
The concept of saying that US intervention in countries of the global south are a distraction from *real* issues on US soil.... Is US intervention not a real fucking issue? Is your country invading and leeching off of poorer countries's resources no biggie?
Of course it only matters when people are murdered when its on US soil!! Its MY lawn theyre getting all that blood on!!! Take it somewhere else you pesky cops!!

WICKER (2026) starring Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård
I am actually thinking lots about how the Bucky fanfiction scene after Captain America: The Winter Soldier delved so deep into how that level of torture and mind control would actually affect a person, and the fragmentation of Bucky's personal identity, in many cases exploring how Bucky would never be the person Steve knew ever again.
They explored the effects of PTSD that he would suffer and realistically dealt with how it would affect him mentally to be not allowed to make choices, to be mentally and psychologically abused to that extent and how he would struggle to adjust once he was safe. They even dug into the uglier realities of torture as it exists in real life, showing Bucky as a survivor of sexual violence
Also, lots of fanfics portrayed Bucky as being physically disabled after his time as the Winter Soldier. Like, there were multiple fics I read where he has a feeding tube that described that with realism, and several more where he has various GI tract difficulties after being tube-fed throughout his stint as a living weapon. Multiple fics that describe him having seizures, at least two fics where he is addicted to heroin and suffers withdrawals from that, also fics where the arm is removed and he has to adjust to life as an amputee
And then, when you return to canon, of course they're not interested in the long-term mental and physical effects of The Horrors at all, except for a little bit of Hollywood PTSD.
Film franchises rarely explore the actual physical and mental effects that would be suffered by action heroes due to the events and injuries they endure in canon, but the level of investment in the Implications on the part of the fans vs. the actual people in charge of the franchise is SO stark here.
This reminds me of how the third Hunger Games book, Mockingjay, spends a lot of time showing Katniss’s PTSD; the book opens with her wandering the halls of district 13 and hiding in weird places and avoiding responsibilities and people. She’s wearing a wristband that says MENTALLY UNSTABLE. Throughout the book she endures even more trauma. After losing Prim she falls apart completely. The end of the book is about her slow process of healing, and she tells the audience that even after decades of healing, her nightmares will never go away.
The movie really significantly cuts down on and softens all of this, because they want her to be a typical YA tough girl action hero. And yeah, book Katniss is tough and determined and a fighter, but more than anything she’s traumatized. Recently saw someone in a fandom group saying they read the book after watching the movie and didn’t like it because they wanted her to be a YA action hero rather than so traumatized.

Do the AI people know that the rest of us who never got on the bandwagon are still doing everything the same way we always have
The AI boom has changed literally nothing about my day to day life except I now have to work harder to get access to reliable information, all the important admin work is being done wrong, and I keep getting DMs letting me know the perfectly ordinary and plausible photo I liked was actually a fake image generated by a fascist to generate views and churn out ad money for the purpose of funding their tree-powered puppy-flushing toilet
