Living Harmony AU relevant character sheets/info: Stygian Harmony Started working on my puppet rigs again for the AU mlp animation project I'm in the middle of making assets for in my spar time. Was very excited to take my good friend Ori's Stygian design and finally turn it into a full animation rig. Stygian's 3Q front view is pretty much complete and I've gotten a good amount of work done on his other turnaround views that I sketched out in the bottom most gif. Everything in these rigs is made from scratch and I'm very pleased with how he's turning out. The Pillars of Equestria are extremely important to this story idea and how they relate to the Tree of Harmony, so I wanna give their puppet rigs as much love as possible and that includes best boy Stygian. :)

I was 22 when I got my first bookstore job, and at the time my entire experience of "old people" was my grandparents, none of whom had been particularly healthy, and none of whom I was close with. To my young eyes, all they did was sit around and be old. That was life after 60.

The owner of the bookstore was this grand old dame of 76 who had been in the business for 40 years. She'd had three kids with a husband who was extremely gay, and as soon as those were old enough, they split up. She read on an epic scale, was an avid follower of the opera, sang in several choirs, and scheduled arts programming for a private club. She had gentleman callers (so they styled themselves) at the store continuously the entire fifteen years I worked there--yah, into her NINETIES. She never took up seriously with any of them, because they couldn't keep up. She was impeccably dressed and put together every single day of her life, drank regularly, and said they would pry her estrogen supplements out of her cold, dead hands. She had a gang of elderly single lady friends, though, and they went out every night of the week. They knew everything and everyone, collectively. She got her first smart phone in her mid-80s and became extremely Online. I bet she's on Tumblr now. She is 96.

This blew my mind. Life didn't have to be over...ever.

We worship youth in our culture. Only the young have futures, and the aged exist to enable the lives of the young. We act as if by the time you hit forty, you've had your chance. You are now expected to step aside and scede life to others.

FUCK THAT. I have a lot of life ahead of me. I have places to go and books to read and people to fuck and food to eat and music to dance to and emotions to feel and nazis to punch and stories to tell and hearts to break and ventures to capitalize and empires to conquer. I am going to be doing this for the next fifty years, minimum.

Life has so much in it. Do it all, forever.

So I discovered Stygian Disharmony the other day through the track posted on Thorn’s channel, and I’ve gotta say, you’ve already REALLY got my interest! The test video looks *so* clean, the music is *so* good, and some of your cast picks have me really eager to see more

I’m really curious… how long have you been working on it? And how far into development are you?

Hihi! I'm really happy to hear you feel that way, means I'm doing something right.

As for development, it officially started in February of this year, some early ideas for the game were already circling my head at the time. My friend shared a song with me that got me motivated to actually start working on the game, that very same song is now part of the game's OST.

So yeah, around 10 months working on it so far. I started with the dialogue and movement system for the Daily-Life gameplay, then tackled the Trial gameplay as I knew it would be the hardest to get right, and I wanted to get it working early on to not worry about it later.

It's hard to pin-point exactly how far development is because of the nature of game making. Things can take way longer than you anticipate and that's kind of how it is sometimes. The prologue and chapter 1 are pretty much set in stone by now. In terms of coding, I want to focus on getting the trial minigames done to be more at ease with everything else.

The plan currently is to get most of the game structure ready and release a demo to showcase Daily-Life and Trial gameplay, and also use it for playtesting.

I just looked at your Sunburst 3d model from last year and I'm astounded, how did you manage to translate the G4 style to 3d so flawlessly? Amazing work my dude

Sorry for the really late response! I haven't been on Tumblr as often. Thank you for asking!

Honestly for the most part it came down to using a lot of image references from as many angles as I could find

I lost the original images I used as references but what I looked for the most was front facing and profile angles and very carefully tried to align them in 3D space, then I would trace around the shape and start making faces out of the outlines I made

But yea a lot of adjusting faces to match the references as much as possible, a lot of issues were solved in part by the fact MLP characters don't have shading so I could get away with some parts looking kinda off with lighting because after removing the shadows it wouldn't be noticeable (biggest example is how the eye whites are actually holes in the head)

Texture painting was by hand and I also tried just in general matching the reference images.

Dialogue system overhaul yippieee!!!

I did a whole bunch of more coding, and also added Sunburst to test the camera movement! The background music in this was done by my friend Abicus_Null.

Everytime one of these "protect women and girls" orgs go viral for doing something evil I like to take a look through their "wins" and see if they've ever helped protect even one single living woman or girl.

Collective Shout has:

Gotten a hotel to cancel a legal-aged porn star's reservation

Gotten a venue to cancel a Playboy Bunny themed party - again, attended by only adults

Pressured the Breast Cancer Foundation to pull ads that they found too sexy

got ads for a sex doll company removed because they felt the dolls resembled children

Got a beer coozy that had pinups of adult women printed on them discontinued.

Got an H&M ad pulled for back to school clothes for saying "Turn Heads"

Got Tyler the Creator banned from performing in New Zealand

I'm still scrolling and I have yet to see a single instance of a real, living woman or girl being protected by any one of their actions. They have on multiple occasions punished real, adult women for the audacity to be naked in some capacity they find distasteful.

Adding to this that they have lobbied to get a real pedophile released AND supported Cuties, which objectified and exploited real living children.

My main point is not that you have to love any of the things above, you can even hate them and wish they didn't exist. but they were able to dismantle the entire games industry and set a dark precedent regarding banks deciding who is morally good enough to spend money - and they aren't even helping any real women or girls in the process.

they are barring wikipedia. they are barring spotify. they are barring important news - both national news and world news. they are barring mental health forums and LGBTQ related things and so much more. this is not about protecting children, it has never been about protecting children.

the online safety act is an insane privacy breach, and if that does not scare you then you need to think harder about it. it is going to end up in a massive data leak - all the information is getting collected by random third party systems. can we trust them? no. can we even hold them accountable? no. because the government couldn’t even make their own system to do these age checks.

and i hear you - it is important that kids don’t see porn. but even if all this was about protecting kids, it’s sloppy and useless. it’s easy (for now) to get around with a vpn and the only thing the act doing is censoring things that it shouldnt. if the government wanted to protect kids, they would do something concrete about it - they would be putting more funding into education, for example.

of course the policy isnt called “national surveillance”. they’re not going to call it that. everything will be hidden behind things that people want.

so email your MP, and tell other people that this is WAY more than blocking porn from children - this is the first step towards national surveillance.

people are clowning on this guy on reddit but uhhh let's pause for a minute and ask...so what happens if someone has a skin condition? what if part of their face has been burned? what if they're missing their eyes? and so what if they just have a fuckton of tattoos? recognition algorithms are aligned with the most ""average"" / ""normal"" features which means any deviation gets denied access to shit we didnt need age verification for 1 year ago. i dont care if it's a choice versus not, dont care if it's accessing porn or wikipedia, this needs to stop
