24th of January 2014. Premiere of Max Richter's Memory House live at the Barbican London.

I just want to start by saying how much Max inspires me as a musician and composer, it was strange because when I discovered Max's music I had already been composing music for many years but there was a connection there. When I first heard pieces like Sarajevo it was as if I had found the key to what I was trying to compose myself, I always had ideas but never know how to approach them and turn them into reality. But once discovering Max's music everything I ever wanted to do fell into place.

So as you can imagine having the opportunity to go and see him live at the Barbican was amazing, I was so excited but subconsciously worried at the same time as I know how his music makes me feel emotionally. The concert certainly did not disappoint what with the BBC Philharmonic orchestra and Max Richter him self the music sounded incredible, the pieces of music sounded so much better live than on a CD with added sounds that just arnt there normally. It's fair to say it was an inspirational and emotional night, one that I will always remember and what made it even more special was as an encore he played On The Nature Of Day Light... That's one of my all time favorite pieces of music, there is something magical about it in so many ways!

P.s if you have never listened to any music by Max Richter go and do it NOW!
