“The wind is rising. We must try to live.” - The Wind Rises, 2013
A little homage I did for my favorite Ghibli film. Sembreak is almost over so I must keep lettering.

A rejected art card I made for a video our school requested. My colleague and I decided not to push through with it since it lacked readability, which is true. It’s supposed to say CAS (College of Arts & Sciences) 25th Anniversary. Gotta work more!
My older brother graduated from university this year and the family is hosting a tiny jig to celebrate. Naturally, my parents asked me to design the invite, and naturally it was a rush job because they’re well informed of how design works :))
The original design had my brother’s grad pic beside the invite on the left, but I don’t think he wants to see his face on my portfolio. Neither do I. Congrats, brutha!
Spontaneous lettering turned into vectoring! I'm hoping I could do simpler pieces like this for a while despite the hectic schedule.
Special thanks to The Australian Graphic Supply Co. for making that playful pattern for free! Check them out!
My first time to finish a self-initiated lettering piece and actually digitize it! The text was just something I thought of one Saturday night feeling all introverted and lazy. I'm a bit of a boring bloke every weekend, just chilling indoors. There are so many mistakes here, but eh, I'll get better :)
Promotional materials I did last Novermber for an org competition, Pecha Kucha, wherein representatives from different blocks of the School of Communication battle it out by having the best and most creative presentation. This year, Pecha Kucha went with a detective theme so our block representative chose a bear as his pun-filled avatar.
My two best friends and I have our birthdays on November. I drew portraits of them posing with their favorite flowers. Cheers, to you both.
I'm a marketing student. My home academic org in my university approached me to design a poster for their series, Ad Quote of the Week, that features quotes from revered advertising, marketing, and communications gurus. I chose a short quote that was simpe, yet spoke in volumes. I chose a short one because I'm lazy, too. I haven't designed anything in the longest time, so I had so much fun just playing around with this until 3am.

Final Civitas ASIA 2013 pamphlets.

super late post, these are the final designs for the pamphlets
the drafts were edited by a very talented friend!

This is so ironic; I didn't feel the slightest merry feeling making this. There are so many things off here. As an artist, I think the saddest feeling is being compelled to make something even though you know not a single thing will work the way it was priorly planned. It's like being tied down to a vehicle of some sort about to run of a cliff. It's alright, sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
Nevertheless, Merry Christmas, everyone!
My dear friend needed some encouragement.
First time to path text! It was pretty difficult since it was hard to align the text properly with the shapes. Plus, I'm annoyed how the banners are pixelated, even after converting those into Smart objects.
Photo mine. Done in Photoshop CS6.
Civitas ASIA 2013 (Drafts)
Pamphlet drafts made for CivitasASIA 2013. An annual conference about education and culture.
Drafts I made for pamphlets to be used in a conference. I recently got some really neat high quality Rorschach brushes, so I used those for my background. Happy 129th Birthday, Hermann Rorschach!
A Welcome Back poster to greet the student body of UA&P for the 2nd semester of SY 2013-2014
A poster I did for the start of the 2nd semester. This is my first time to ever use a vignette #designerachievementunlocked
Check out my other blog! It's a required portfolio I have in the media committee I'm in!

A (really late) birthday gift to one of my absolute-st dearest friends. She was given the nickname "Little Miss Sunshine" since she had this gift where everyone would be drawn to her without her even trying. Elegance.
Photograph taken by me. Done in Photoshop CS6.
I went into this art jam where we had to draw ourselves as if we were in How To Train Your Dragon. I never got to finish it. This was done 2-3 months ago. Will get back to this in the future!
Three (3) posters I made for the UA&P Media Management Committee. I didn't do anything, but this during the weekend. It was fun.
White poster paint on black poster paper.
A little something to return the favor to my photography mentor. The photograph was taken by her, and it just looked so good to put type on. I didn't do justice to complement the photograph.
This was done using (the incredibly difficult) Photoshop CS6 Portable.
