The Perfect Sentence is out now via Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Spotify, along with a dozen other music streamers. Thank you to all of you who have shared kind words and public shout-outs. You're under no obligation and I appreciate it.
Promise I'll stop emailing about this now that it's out, but if you have any social media presence and are jazzed in any way about this thing, I'd appreciate a shout-out at some point. Again - no obligation, and thanks for all that you do.
Jeff's new show is out today, and I can't stress enough how bad I want all of you to listen to it! It's something truly special, as much for its personal vulnerability as for its artistic ambition. Here's what I posted on BlueSky when I first listened to it last month:
I just finished listening to near-finished draft of The Perfect Sentence by @vandreasonable.bsky.social, and HOLY SHIT. This thing is intense and beautiful and intimate and one-of-a-kind. A story and a meditation, autobiography and fiction, history and pseudohistory, musical and prosaic and poetic. It's about the stories we tell about people after they're gone, memories both real and constructed, histories both real and constructed, sometimes with intention, sometimes a natural consequence of the passage of time. It's about loss and what remains, about the stories we tell to help ourselves cope, and the stories we tell to help ourselves fail to cope, and how hard it is to know which is which, or whether the two are even different things. Just a phenomenal and deeply moving work of art.
