Sometimes I light up like a vacancy sign and take in people who I don’t have room for. I look lovers in the eyes after I’ve helped unpack their bags and tell them I cannot be their home.
ak, but he won’t leave and I don’t think I want him to (via alexthesleepy)
I haven’t met all of me yet.
10.09.15 I honestly think this must be what love feels like. 12.13.15 It wasn't.
That … is the unrecognized mystery of this world: Jesus Christ. That this Jesus of Nazareth, the carpenter, was himself the Lord of glory: that was the mystery of God. It was a mystery because God became poor, low, lowly, and weak out of love for humankind, because God became a human being like us, so that we would become divine, and because he came to us so that we would come to him. God as the one who becomes low for our sakes, God in Jesus of Nazareth—that is the secret, hidden wisdom… that “no eye has seen nor ear heard nor the human heart conceived” (1 Cor. 2:9)…. That is the depth of the Deity, whom we worship as mystery and comprehend as mystery.

اللهم لا تُعلق قلبي الضَّعيف بِما ليسَ لِي. Oh God, don’t let my weak heart get attached with what’s not mine

“Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence…”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Manon, Ballerina (via amargedom)
And I say to myself: A moon will rise from my darkness. وأَقول لنفسِي: سَيطلعُ مِن عَتْمَتِي قَمَر.
Mahmoud Darwish (via arab-quotes)

She is a dead language. I can still read her, but there is no one left to share the magnificence of her existence with.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be poets. And blessed are those who hunger, for they shall find sustenance in the hollow collar bones of undeserving lovers. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be tormented by the weight of their decisions. Oh and blessed are the pure in heart, for we shall devour their hearts. We shall devour their hearts.
ak, a return to writing (11/29/15)
They ask, 'what have you gained from this dust?' And I don't know what to say, so I show them my feet that have walked through deserts and my back stained red from this sand. I can't find the words in English and I don't care to try. I didn't get a visa for these mountains, I didn't enter customs before walking through my front door. No one told me home would feel like a foreign country.
ak, gone too long
I am no other than what I am experiencing. I am this breathing. I am this moment.

And it’s amazing how much noise people ignoring each other can make.
