Ok this coming of winter got me fantasizing about the cozy feeling of shopping for useless Christmas gifts with friends, but I resisted and bought only stuff that I precedently finished or that I needed to study and I could not get for free from my uni.

The ✨dialectic tension✨ between being a deconstructing anti-capitalist self and the christian-capitalist western European education received does drain me.

This does not mean I don't get to enjoy the ✨ aesthetic maps ✨ in my textbook or the pastel shades for my highlighter of choice when I can!

Exam season is almost over!

It took a quite intense turn, I took a break from posting but every effort was worth it!

Fingers crossed for my last exam and for everyone who is still in finals season!

These days PCOS is torturing me again, I'm bed ridden with pain and cramps since yesterday. I had plans to go to the library and see some friends, but I had to reschedule everything and take a couple days to rest.

Back to posting after my winter break from social medias!

During holidays I often get overwhelmed by the tight time schedule arranged to see every friend group and people from my childhood and school years that come back home for the holidays and keeping up with study, work and the internet.

This account is mainly to hold myself accountable and committed to study, and also to romanticise it and make it more pleasant, so if it distracts me rather than encourage me I better take some time off here and there.

This past weeks I kept preparing for my medieval history exam that will be in February (I couldn't finish the entire program in time for the January scheduled date) and I resumed my new January exam which will be history of science.

Enlightenment and positivism philosophy from the textbook (definitely the least favourite part of the program)

Revising first chapters of history of science

Buy new trainers/comfortable shoes

PCOS and iron deficiency has been really unkind to me lately: because of the pain today I ditched the library and studied from home, so here's a time lapse of around 40 minutes of me revising Charles the Great's dynasty and transcribing my notes (god do I touch my face much when I'm concentrated)

I'm very tired today, I missed the library these days

I tried time blocking tasks with pomodoro method seriously this time to accelerate my study (in Italian I'd say "to put pepper on my ass") and I must say I found it very helpful!

I managed to finish by the early afternoon the amount of work I normally do in an entire day, leaving me time to start the next history chapter. I'm also pretty happy with the quality of my study today!

While the previous times I only used the timer to focus on one long assignment, this time I did it to set a deadline or measure my tasks timewise, to correlate and visualise a bit more clearly how much I needed to do and how much it would realistically take me.

My focus time is already quite long and I have a good routine of alternating intense study hours and quick refreshing pauses, but what slows me is always considering my impending tasks only through time or extension, quite never correlating the two.

My problem has always been time management when the deadlines are still far, knowing that stresses me even more and considering the whole amount of work left scares me every time, so I end up spending more time to make strict unrealistic plans to co-opt my future self into being consistent rather than analysing and breaking through the tasks I have ahead of me to make them feel as simple and as comprehensible as I can.

Once I noticed the amount of pages I could study and write in 25 minutes, the paragraphs and chapters begin to feel way more manageable.

I'll try it again but so far I'm liking it ✨

I'm soooooo behind my plans, I underestimated the complexity of the European historical phase I'm studying right now and it's proceeding so slowly I'm freaking out

Since I'm only seeing walls of bookshelves (beautiful btw)

I'm super busy studying lately, my exams are in a month but I'm going very slow and I'm trying to focus on long term qualitative studying and really getting the infos wired once and for all in my brain (also I know it's useless for these exams the level of focus and detail I'm working with, but I don't know if I'll ever have this motivation to come back later on these topics without the pressure of uni, so I'm doing it now).

the amount of the materials I still have to do is overwhelming, so now's the time for consistency and eyebags.
