I think you see Hatter and Jervis as two different beings. That could be why you're still scared. The mind is a complicated thing you know.

That... makes alto of sense. I never really saw Jervis as The Hatter. He’s just ben Jervis to me.

And even then the Jervis I knew is not the Jervis I know now.

I know they’re all one and the same, but I feel like only one of them hurt me. And even though he’s gone, he’s not.

I really hoped... I did what I felt like I needed to do! Not only do I understand Jervis better now, not only am I not scared of him anymore, but we’re friends again!

You know, I feel like I used to have a similar problem. Though it never affected me as badly as it clearly did for you, probably because who I am and who people expect me to be are not really that far apart. Made it easy to just comply. But ever since-

But, to answer your inquiry… Dr. Valentin is a very sweet man, in his own way. I find him quite endearing, and his topics of conversation to be intriguing– in the matter of cerebral interests. However, I imagine to you, it might seem too much like keeping the company of the other scientists at work. Very technical, with his field divulging a bit more into the surgical. Which may be a bit too… much for you. 

It certainly can be for me, at times.
