smallerstrange:
“You look like someone who wants to do me a favor.”
“I’m not entirely sure what that look is, but what do you need?”
fairbornstar:
“It’s fine, it’s cool.” Marlene shrugs and crosses her arms, “I can apparate around so I don’t even need that hit to fully heal right now, you know? I can just.. poof! It’s just quidditch anyways and we don’t have another game until next week anyway, I get to relax instead of train non-stop, I call that a win.”
Alice smiled softly, a bit of worry in her eyes. “For sure, of course. How are you feeling though? Any better?” she asked. “And if you take it nice and easy, I’m sure it’ll heal in no time. And definitely a win, now you get to sleep late!” she laughed. “Besides, how exactly did it happen again?”
tildenxtoots:
“We should go together, we can pop up during one of her classes and scare the children with the harsh realities of the real world. I’ll make sure to not have slept for two days.” Tilden grinned over at Alice and nodded, “Oh, yeah, Joseph? He’s still around. And Hazel’s doing well, I think. She keeps dodging my attempts to recruit her to help in the garden by running off with Hestia, which is fair enough really.” His smile widened as she spoke, “Really? That’s fantastic, congratulations. I’m so happy for you.”
Alice giggled. “Tilden! Those poor things, they’ll be frightened out of their minds. But I’ll bring my stack of papers and coffee cups to show them as part of it,” she laughed. “Oh, I’m so happy to hear, they seemed so lovely together! I really liked him. And we can’t blame Hazel, no, although I do miss her.” Alice beamed. “Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m really excited. I just need to get out in the field and do something, you know? I hope it’s something exciting.”
sophiadarling:
Sophia chuckled. “I would keep you around forever if I could, you know that, but I doubt my dear future husband would enjoy that very much.” She tilted her head to the side. “Better than alcohol?”, there was a pause, during which she pretended to ponder. “Oui, definitely better than alcohol. I could eat them all day every day and never get tired.” She shrugged. “I believe weddings are around to show off how happy you are, but if you’re truly happy, why would you need to show off in the first place? People who care will be there still, ceremony or not. If I could get married to- someone else, I would elope in a second.” She smiled softly. “Non, not particularly. I think I always carry a bit of melancholy with me, just to remind me you can’t never be truly and completely happy. Though if there’s a person who can, that’s you. And your lovely Longbottom bien sûr.”
“Well, he’ll just have to learn to live with it,” Alice lifted up her chin stubbornly. “Because I’m part of your life, and he won’t be able to get rid of me, so..” she shrugged, laughing at Sophia’s next comment. “Of course better. Same, if I had to eat one food forever-well, I think we both know what it would be.” She frowned, thinking. “No, those are all fair points, and the people who matter will always be there, but it’s about celebrating the happiness with those people. And sometimes people do turn it into about who has the nicest gown, or cake, or whatever, but it’s about being with the person you love in a room full of those who love you both. And the dress, and the cake-they’re just symbols of it all. Which isn’t necessary, but still nice. But I wish you luck on your elopement,” she smiled sadly. “And I don’t know if I agree with that either. I think you can- and you will be, one day, I know. And thank you. Speaking of which, Frank does like you by the way. I know you were worried he didn’t, but he does! He’s just, well, the two of you need some proper bonding is all.”

imshacklebolted:
He takes a small bite of the sweet, nodding to demonstrate his answer before he even opens his mouth again. “It’s really good, what’s it called exactly? –Tastes better than the paperwork that’s for sure.”
“I’m happy you like it! There’s more if you want, feel free to take. They’re called Violette de Toulouse- it’s a bit of a mouthful, so people just call them violettes normally,” Alice explained. “And agreed. But really, tell me, how do you get through it all? Because I’m trying, I really am, but I just get so terribly bored.”
eddieboners:
Edgar shrugged, still focused on eating. “I don’t know, I could be dead right now. You would be a great hit-witch. I think you missed your calling.” He smiled. “They’re amazing! Between you and Dorcas you’re going to turn me into an elephant.”
“Well I hope you aren’t dead, that would be concerning. Or just make me crazy I guess.” she shrugged. “And thank you! I’ve never considered it before, but it’s not too late for a career change, is it? Although I don’t think it really goes with being an auror really,” she laughed. “Thanks so much! And don’t worry, I’m sure you could a hundred times the amount and still be fine. We believe in you.”
amosdiggoryx:
“Oh, they’re pretty well. They wanted me to stay for a bit longer but I was keen on coming back,” he replied with a bright smile. He raised an eyebrow, laughing softly, understanding what she meant. “I do,” he nodded, before asking curiously, “What did she say this time?”
Alice nodded, understanding. “I get that. Things to do, people to see and all that,” she smiled. “Don’t laugh!” she said, teasing as she giggled a bit. “You know it’s serious. Well, she wants to rethink the invitations, and maybe we should handwrite all of them, and went on about her color scheme, and well, you can imagine.”
macdonxlds:
“Alice,” she exclaimed, almost tossing the bouquet to the cobblestones in her effort to embrace her best friend. “What a lovely surprise. My day has been rather frantic, filled with running orders and whatnot. What about you?” She smiled, delighted to have run into one of her oldest friends. “They were cheeky little buggers, just looking for the right opportunity to get away. I think I was dreaming of a hot chocolate rather than thinking of the flowers.”
Alice hugged Mary back, smiling at her friend. “Frantic isn’t so nice,” she wrinkled her nose “but lots of orders is good! I’m good, been doing some research on a new assignment this morning. Lots of sugared coffee, that’s for sure,” she laughed. “Oh no, that’s the worst. Wait-is that them over there?” she asked, pointing to the corner. “And yum. I’m so down. Way better than coffee any day- with marshmallows, of course.”
tildenxtoots:
Tilden pulled a face before he shook his head and it was replaced by a slightly rueful grin, “If you say so. That’s a good point though, I visited her with some questions about a screechsnap variation I was fiddling with, and you know how it is, obviously I also got plenty of Sprout updates. So don’t worry about not getting more on that.” Tilden shrugged, “Nothing particularly out of the ordinary- pestering Hazel, poking around in the garden. You?”
Alice smiled. “Aww, I miss her. I have to go visit sometime, really. Any good updates? Is she still seeing that man she went out on a date with last time? I liked him, he seemed sweet,” she laughed, thinking about her former teacher. “That’s nice, how’s Hazel doing? And not much either- lots of auror training, but I think I get to go out to the field for a mission soon, so I’m really excited.”
macdonxlds:
“Oh I’m terribly sorry… I didn’t see you there. I’m just curious, but you haven’t happened to have seen several Cobra Lilies slithering off anywhere? They seem to have escaped from this bouquet.”
“Mary! Hi! ” Alice beamed at her friend, not expecting to run into her here. “How’s your day going? And I haven’t although the bouquet still looks lovely,” she smiled. “But I can help you look- how did they manage to escape you anyways?” she asked, standing up.
tildenxtoots:
“Weird. I can see the attraction when you put it like that.” Tilden’s grin softened into a smile as Alice continued speaking, and he shrugged. “Well, thank you. I’ll attempt to limit my rambling when I come for dinner, it’d probably be unfair to expose you two to any more than you already get.” His tone had shifted subtly to joking, and he dug a muggle pen out of his pocket and scrawled fruit salad over the back of his hand, nodding. “Myself and fruit salad. I’m excited too, it really has been ages.”
Alice laughed. “Right? And of course, anytime,” she smiled. “Oh no, please don’t! We like it, it’s part of what makes you Tilden. How else would I know so much about Sprout’s personal life?” she teased, watching him write the note with amusement. “Perfect, I can’t wait. Anyways, what have you been up to lately? Aside from late night ramblings I mean.”
imshacklebolted:
“Well okay, but only because of your recommendation don’t think I go around accepting candy from everyone.”
“I’m honored then, really,” Alice laughed, waiting for him to take a bite. “So, what do you think? My grandmere sent them from France the other day, and I really like them. Much better than all the paperwork they’ve been having us do in the office, that’s for sure.”

“True love is taking the risk that it won’t be a happily-ever-after. True love is joining hands with the man who loves you for who you are, and saying, “I’m not afraid to believe in you.” ( @caputdracxnis )
