xal is the “in every universe”/“in any universe” guy ever and in all of them he’s getting shafted. i think this scene is the opposite of canon since. being a sovereign is probably the best off you can get but i don’t wanna come up w a new fit for him so this is all he gets. backgrounds from eeaao and limbo respectively bc i lazy
I wanted to bring my two special interests together so here we go :) also I'm open to any other hc and I want to hear other takes too :)
Amon: The flash! That guy is swallowing all the flash content from comics to shows and he loves the concept of the speed force it's so cool for him and wouldn't stop yapping about the timeline stuff (he started by watching young justice kid flash and got broken hearted after)
Raeya: Wonder Woman , TRUST ME GUYS she daydreams abt Wonder Woman cracking her infront of her army (that one ask from the office Tumblr acc ifykyk) but genuinely she loves WW very much and it upsets her how underrated she is and always having bad runs.
Gael: Martian Manhunter :) Gael would collect everything Martian Manhunter related and would talk about him all the time and he wishes fans paid more attention because how underrated Martian Manhunter is and is not talked about enough.
Envy: REDHOOD! OBVIOUSLY. I just think they relate alot to Jason's issues and his complicated relationship with his family and pretty much loves Jason's character design. (he crashes out when writers mischaracterize redhood for the 92728th time)
Ara: Oh she LOVES Zatanna Zatara / characters that are magical or related to magic in some way, she would learn how to read backwards just to understand Zatanna's spells and how they work and every merch she has would be Zatanna relates even having a special corner in her room for her.
Xal: Barbara Gordan or Tim drake , Xal in general is a fan for the bat family especially all the robins and batgirl (especially Barbara) he loves her intelligence and how smart she is (and hot..)
Father pride: Cyborg , it interests him that despite Cyborg being technically half a robot he still has his humanity and acts human and him having his transformation but still struggling with his identity as he never really got over what happened to him , Father pride thinks will he be able to feel human if he was Cyborg's place after what he went through?
Lazaro: John Constantine , something about John being a fucked up man who is also a dark sorcerer too (both do very suspicious rituals) John's lore is one of the most interesting and deep ones in dc and that what would attract Lazaro to him.
Cécile: Blackhand , he's not really interested in the comics but he thought Blackhand was cool especially how Blackhand got back from death and the whole black lanterns thing. Also he dislikes very much the heroes but if he had to pick a hero it might be Martian Manhunter because Master Gael wouldn't shut about him.
(also I think Lazaro would like joker but I HATE joker so not putting him haha)
Another month, another dollar! /silly. March has gone by extremely fast (I say that about every month, don't I), but there's a lot of progress to share with y'all, and so many WIPs that have us pumped up! Let's jump into it!
This month, Raquel finished Valor's sprite, one of the secondary characters you'll meet in Amon's first chapter! That means all the sprites for the chapter are ready! Raquel is going to start working on Valor's expression next, and I can't wait to code them!
Character-wise, what's next is working on the next secondary character for Amon's route; Madam Ejdo. You'll see her mentioned in Amon's first chapter, and that's all I'm saying for now!
With Dagalis' concept art finished, we moved to Amon's Golden Palace! Here's the finished concept art. Airyn did a wonderful job—as always—integrating the key elements of the city into the palace itself, while also pushing it even further into "Amon territory". My idea for the palace was something blocky, inspired by the structure of chinese military fortresses, tibetan dzongs, and mesoamerican pyramids. I learned a lot of stuff while investigating about these!
As of this month, Airyn has started working on furniture for the interior backgrounds, such as Amon's office, MC's room, and more! I prepared a huge moodboard with plenty of inspiration, and I'm sure Airyn will do a terrific job as per usual. Nothing new under the sun! Astro will start with the 3D model of the palace, and after the interiors are planned, we can really start working on the backgrounds for chapter one.
great things happening in the AMON: CH 1 document /silly
March has been a great month for me script-wise! My editing run has been briefly interrupted by a change of heart in a specific section of Amon's first chapter that I've almost finished writing. Sometimes I get so caught up in the zone that I forget the main goal of a first chapter: being a good cover letter of the love interest as well as establishing the dynamic between them and the main character, even if briefly.
In the meantime, our editor Allie has already started doing her proofreading and editing round, and she has been kind enough to not only correct my non-native english speaker ass, but also give me their opinion as a fellow writer and friend! Hating Amon (as in lovingly) is the reaction I hope everyone has when playing his first chapter!
I also finished writing the VA document for the auditions of Cécile, Vycar, and Valor, and holy hell, the amount of auditions we have and are still receiving! We can't be more grateful. I'll try to work on an automatic response system, if I can, so those who send an audition at least can know we received it. Doing it manually like in our first casting call would surely kill me /silly
And last but not least, I answered a tumblr ask of a decent length to include in our special Patreon ask-box!
WIP of the Compendium icon by @/saturni_idae on instagram and twitter!!
Saturni put the pedal to the metal during March with the (almost) finished prototype of our Compendium! If the WIP we showed you last time was already beautiful, the almost-finished version is just absolutely mind-blowing. Saturni still wants to polish a few things, but we can't wait to show our programmer the whole compendium! Kayden will be the one working on the final icons for the whole thing, and above you can see a few explorations of the compendium icon!
During March I finished writing the voice acting document for Vycar, Cécile and Valor's auditions (as I said above!). I also worked on the small graphic you see above, and I'm reworking all the character sheets we initially had of our cast (those who have been following us on tumblr since our humble beginnings surely remember them) so the artstyle matches our current one!
The sample of our Kickstarter-exclusive mini artbook (what a mouthful) arrived safely on the 30th! On Saturday, we all met in person to take a look at it to send our feedback to the manufacturer, who has been nothing but accommodating the whole time (we finally have some luck in that field). Some images need a bit of tweaking as they look a tiny bit dark, but nothing major! This week Astro and I will work on the modifications and send the files back to the manufacturer, who will give us an estimated shipping time for the whole batch of artbooks.
This month we have also sent our business info to another counseling office in hopes to change consultants. Sadly, our current consultant is still giving us trouble. We'd rather not get into details, but the "boss" even refuses to pick up my calls or reply to our texts. They also ignore my emails, yay! Hopefully we get news soon from the new office. Also, it has been a DOING TAXES MONTH, and I hate the DTM.
Also, during March I've been working alongside @/nena0me to bring Raeya's first Patreon illustration to life! Well, Nena has done all the work while I just threw the theme her way!

As for me, I sent a very important paper to a magazine and started working on another two papers (PhD hell and all that jazz). Raquel joined me in one of them and sent an abstract to see if it gets approved! It'd be so much fun if we went to a congress together, as boring as it can be sometimes. Mentally, March has been a pretty good month for my OCD! Physically, my legs have given me some trouble due to my genu valgum (knock-knees!), but thankfully some physiotherapy has helped and will continue helping. I also have a set of exercises I must do everyday to improve, or at least so it doesn't get worse. The "moving out" situation is a bit slow and anxiety-inducing, but patience is key!
Astro has been working and studying (he had an exam last Wednesday!) and unfortunately he fell a bit sick (had a fever two days ago, but it seems to be miraculously gone?) so he has been trying to rest a little.
Raquel is a bit stressed due to work and some AI shenanigans in the workspace, and she forgot to bring the roscos she baked with her family to our Ravenstar meeting. Therefore, she's fired (/j).
Kayden is there! Mad at me because he wants to play Resident Evil VII but has to wait for me. Also he's wearing his hair longer than usual and he looks so handsome! (Don't tell him I said that /silly)
March was a good month overall! The moment the physical artbook is ready to be shipped, we will get a huge weight off our shoulders. There are a few things we want to talk about in the near-future, but what's first comes first, and that's our Kickstarter Backers getting their orders once and for all.
