I just had my social security denied after my court hearing 2 months ago and the judge misgendered me through her entire denial report. She used she/her pronouns through 90% of it and switched to they/them at the very end. I changed my legal name and gender 5 years ago, 2 years before I ever applied for SSI. I pass as a cis man and my voice reflects this (it was a trial over the phone) and several of my other doctors and therapists said they had no idea I was trans until I told them.

She accused me of lying about my diagnosis and then discarded my doctor's diagnosis and physical evaluations and said she would not consider them. She used all of the testing we did to rule out other diseases as proof that I was ablebodied rather than proof that I had been seeking extensive care and help for my constant pain. She accused me of being drug seeking when I have never had any history of drug abuse or even use outside of a Marijuana dependency to help with my chronic pain, of which I have consistently followed my doctor's recommendations for use and breaks.

But yeah, sure, transmascs are completely exempt from medical misogyny, especially the cis passing guys.

Random world-building thoughts: 

In a world where non-human whumpees are treated/sold as pets, there must be some sort of shelter or rehabilitation center around, right? 

Maybe these centers are underfunded and understaffed rehab centers, with far too few caretakers for far too many rescued, abused “pets.” 

Further random thoughts: 

Winged Whumpees being kept on a very tight schedule, only able to go out and stretch their wings in a larger, enclosed, outdoor area once a week. But it’s better, so much better than being stuck indoors all day, or chained up, or forced to perform meaningless tricks

Merfolk Whumpees in too-small tanks, but at least they’re clean, at least their Caretakers won’t force them out of it, at least they don’t have to flash their scales or sing or do fancy flips

Small whumpees (fairies, for example), being all crowded together in one enclosure, but they get to make friends, and get to commiserate with one another, sharing things that they would never dare share with their Caretakers, finally being understood. 

More monstrous Whumpees being stuck in isolation, visited much less often, but at least they’re free of their chains and muzzles and shock collars  

Adoption days. Countless humans coming in and out, looking for a perfect fit. Some Whumpees bringing out their best selves-- or what Whumper decided was their best-- desperate to find another home. Some Whumpees shying away, determined to stay where they finally felt safe and respected.

So real. I one time saw a comment under a post that was a collection of sex related sign language(like, what signs to use to communicate things like ‘undress’ or signs to explain what position to get into, basic sex stuff) saying “why would anyone need kinky sign language?”

Because disabled people like to have sex and need ways to clearly communicate throughout said sex, Jessica. I thought that was obvious.

”Black hair is too hard to draw!” Is crazy work because Locs and Afros are so easy to draw it’s actually impressive. High key easier than a lot of straight hairstyles. I mean maybe I’m bias because I have a really cutesy/cartoony art style but locs are just a bunch of tubes, thick braids are the same with some little bumps, and Afros are just clouds/bubbles all grouped together. Hell even curls are super easy just add a little loopy in between the bumps BOOM it’s curly (maybe this won’t make sense to ppl that don’t draw either)
