You know when I started watching the Pilot I didn’t think I’d like Chop? I thought he was going to be one of those assy characters that made life really hard for Rae… but he’s so wonderful. He just loves her like almost right off the bat right? Like he just accepts she is who she is and how she is and that she’s a cool girl. They never had any weird sexual tension but you can tell how much he loves her like really loves her as a person. She matters to him and I think it’s really important and really awesome that MMFD depicts a relationship between a guy and a girl that isn’t sexual or romantic.

I know growing up that I felt boys were inherently other, some thing I couldn’t understand. They weren’t like me - and I’ve spent most of my life unlearning that lesson. I love all the boys on MMFD but I dunno I think Chop might be my favorite in terms of the kind of friend Rae needs/deserves.
