give me a bruce wayne that is at first endeared by clark kent’s big heart and strong faith in his ideals, but who slowly begins to resent clarks belief in the goodness of people and chalks it up to ignorance, to him not having seen the darkest parts of the world and sticking to what’s pretty and bright (only what the sun touches)

give me clark kent being intrigued by bruce wayne’s mystery and aloofness, charmed by the cracks in his armour in dry humour, endeared by his care that’s dressed up in so many other things to seem less overwhelming, and who he slowly realises is happy to stay in the dark, to let things consume him, transform him and make him into a man who commits crime as much as he punishes it and rejects every and all opportunities to let himself heal, pushes others away, hurts them

give me a story where all that happens and the conclusion is clark realizing that things arent always black and white, good or bad, and give me bruce learning that community is as strong a weapon as any, there is no existence without the other

give me them making each other better understand the world around them

mix up their philosophies… in a gay way

okay, so i admit i took a while to watch “i saw the tv glow” but WHY did nobody tell me it was about buffy the vampire slayer??? dude even the episode they reference, the season 5 finale, is the one where buffy dies, having to claw her way out from her grave in the season 6 premiere!! the character’s name is TARA and oh, who is that there? AMBER BENSON! and that’s not even mentioning all the references with the effects and the similar vibe with the writing… PLUS the Big Bad? Spike?? that’s even excluding the whole slayer-esque premise and the role of btvs in queer tv history. BLOWN AWAY. amazing movie, truly incredible, but i haven’t seen one soul mention buffy and that is BAFFLING

to be fair i just watched it now and i’m referring to the letterboxd reviews, but in the years since the movie came out i have never heard buffy mentioned in the same breath

also i tiny detail that i loved is how they used the same font for the credits of the pink opaque as they did for buffy (just amazing!)
