You think you're doing great shit until some floating goat head comes along and says

Seriously, the goat was such a freaking struggle and my hand is aching. And tbh, I probably should've kept working on it for a bit longer to polish it up, but I was sick of it, lol.

On the plus side, the etching-style one was actually really fun to do, despite being all linework. And it gave me some design inspiration, too.

Far Cry 5 as Text Posts - Jacob Seed

It's been a while since I've felt genuine excitement for a new video game....

but its a freaking EDEN'S GATE CULT SIMULATOR

the reveal trailer apparently came out 8 months ago, which I completely missed and have only just seen:

and they've posted one of the soundtrack tracks (???) and that's freakin' awesome, too:

They're also doing really well with answering questions in the Steam forums. For example, they've confirmed the map is completely intentional and handcrafted, not procedurally generated!

Anyways, I have no thoughts, only hype.

I am a great candidate if this game wants it's own cult.

A part of me is kind of sad because I'd made this account with the intention of finally sharing a couple FC5 fics I'd been working really hard on, as well as intermittent fanart. But I haven't been able to work on any of those things for a while now because of this apprenticeship.

I mean, I'm super freaking grateful for this opportunity, my mentor, the other artist in the shop, and everything I'm learning, but tbh... an apprenticeship was not on my bingo card for 2026 😭 and it kind of threw off a lot of my plans.

I wouldn't trade this apprenticeship for anything, but I'm still pretty heartbroken that my fics and my OCs are just sitting stagnant on my PC right now, and I've got quite a lot of unfinished fanart as well.

First attempt on fake skin!

My mentor has had me focusing on sanitation and station prep/breakdown when I'm not actively shadowing a tattoo session. Everyone here is so nice and so great about answering questions. Its also nice to be around people that actually care about the whys and hows of how everything works, and don't respond with "it just works lol."

So many Todd Howards in the tattoo world...

(Honestly, that's not fair to Todd.)

And while "homework" (some assigned, some self-imposed) isn't always fun, I'm so excited about everything I'm learning.

And this week at the studio, I got to attack fake skin!

The design is not mine, one of the artists in the shop was kind enough to let me practice with one of their unused stencils!

It's not perfect by any stretch, I still have so much to learn. But I am pretty proud of how it turned out for the first attempt 😊 Just having the chance to start getting a feel for the machine, playing with voltage and needle hang and speed, all of it, was so rewarding and informative.

I'm so excited to keep going.

And I've got so many freaking Far Cry 5 flash ideas, too. I'm looking forward to getting them all drawn up so I can practice with them on some fake skin!

Okay Jacob in this radio call sounds really scary. Like, I don’t know if my game made his voice sound different or something, but he legit scared me (or maybe I was too paranoid after watching Minecraft theory videos which genuinely made me scared, whatever)

Big Ginger Daddy's wheezing gives me chills every time, I get it. Although, meanwhile, the "CHEEEESEBURRGERRR!" in the background of the audio made me laugh. I just want someone to hide one of those Cheeseburger bauble heads somewhere on the St. Francis grounds, and every time Jake'n'Bake starts to monologue at anyone, it magically goes off. God, could you imagine?
